Cassie Ventura’s legal fight with former male escort Clayton Howard has taken another turn, this time through someone from Howard’s own past.
According to TMZ, an ex-girlfriend of Howard contacted Cassie’s team and offered information as the singer fights to dismiss his federal lawsuit. Howard is suing Cassie and Sean “Diddy” Combs, alleging that they hired him for sexual encounters tied to the “freak offs” that became central to Combs’ criminal case.
The new development does not decide the case, and none of Howard’s claims against Cassie has been proven in court. It does, however, give Cassie’s lawyers another piece of information as they argue that Howard’s lawsuit should be thrown out.
Howard’s Ex Reportedly Contacted Cassie’s Team
TMZ reported that Francyna Evins, described as Howard’s ex-girlfriend, contacted Cassie’s team after hearing about his lawsuit. A source connected to the situation told the outlet that Evins offered information about Howard and his litigation history.
Evins has reportedly been involved in her own court dispute with Howard. According to TMZ, she told Cassie’s team that Howard had a history of filing lawsuits she described as meritless.
Cassie’s lawyers then included some of that information in a recent motion seeking to dismiss Howard’s case. In that filing, Cassie’s team described Howard as “no stranger to the legal system” and argued that he uses lawsuits to pursue personal vendettas and perceived wrongs.
Cassie’s Filing Questions Howard’s Lawsuit History
Cassie’s team is not only denying Howard’s claims. It is also challenging his credibility and pattern of litigation.
TMZ reported that Cassie’s motion accused Howard of having a “pattern and practice” of filing abusive and frivolous lawsuits. The filing also said he has brought multiple legal actions against people and organizations in recent years.
That argument appears designed to frame Howard’s lawsuit as part of a broader pattern rather than a standalone legal claim. Whether the court accepts that argument will depend on the filings, the evidence, and how the judge evaluates the relevance of Howard’s previous litigation history.
Howard’s Lawsuit Makes Serious Allegations

Howard’s lawsuit claims that Combs and Cassie hired him to have sex with Cassie during the alleged “freak offs.” He also alleges that he contracted an STD from Cassie and that she became pregnant by him before having an abortion.
Howard, who testified in Combs’ federal criminal case, also claims he was subjected to sexual abuse that caused serious mental harm. Cassie denies the allegations.
The wording matters here. These are Howard’s claims in a civil lawsuit. They should not be treated as established facts unless a court later finds them proven.
Cassie Says Howard Once Supported Her Publicly
Cassie’s legal team has also pointed to an alleged 2023 text Howard sent to her husband, Alex Fine, after Cassie came forward with allegations against Combs.
TMZ reported that Cassie’s filing says Howard sent Fine a supportive message at the time, saying he believed Cassie’s truth was valid and that he was glad she had received some form of justice.
Cassie’s team appears to be using that alleged message to argue that Howard’s position shifted only after Cassie received settlements tied to her allegations against Combs. Howard’s side may dispute that framing, but the alleged text has become one of the details in Cassie’s response.
The Case Comes After Cassie’s Role in the Diddy Trial
The lawsuit is connected to the broader legal aftermath of Combs’ criminal case. Cassie testified for four days as a key witness during the trial, describing years of alleged abuse and coercion during her relationship with Combs.
Fox News reported that Combs was acquitted of racketeering and sex-trafficking charges but convicted on two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution. He was later sentenced to 50 months in prison and ordered to pay a $500,000 fine.
Cassie had previously filed a civil lawsuit against Combs in November 2023 alleging rape and abuse. That case settled quickly. She later testified in court that she received a $20 million settlement from Combs.
Cassie Has Also Asked to Move the Case

The Howard lawsuit has also raised a venue issue. Fox News reported that Cassie filed a motion asking to move the case from California to New York, where many Diddy-related civil cases have already been filed.
In court documents quoted by Fox News, Cassie said she resides outside the United States and does not intend to move back. She also argued that New York would be more convenient because her lawyers are there and many related cases are already pending there.
That filing adds another layer to the current dispute. Cassie is fighting the substance of Howard’s claims, challenging the lawsuit’s credibility, and seeking a more convenient legal forum.
The New Information Could Help Cassie’s Defense
Evins’ reported involvement gives Cassie’s legal team another way to attack Howard’s case. If the court finds Howard’s litigation history relevant, it could strengthen Cassie’s argument that the lawsuit should be dismissed or viewed skeptically.
Still, the court will have to separate personal history from legally meaningful evidence. An ex-girlfriend’s statements may matter if they are supported by documents, prior court records, or details that directly relate to Howard’s claims.
For now, the confirmed update is narrower: Cassie’s team is using the information as part of its motion to dismiss. The lawsuit remains active unless the court rules otherwise.
