Céline Dion apparently was not ready for the music to stop after her Sept. 18 Paris concert.
After performing the third show of her comeback engagement at Plenitude Arena in nearby Nanterre, the 58-year-old singer arrived outside a Paris hotel and found fans waiting. Dion climbed onto a parked black car, removed her slippers and settled onto the hood as the crowd gathered around her, according to Just Jared.
When her 1995 French-language hit “Pour que tu m’aimes encore” began playing, Dion started singing along. Fan videos show her swaying, tapping her bare feet, clapping and conducting the crowd before eventually standing on the vehicle.
The impromptu sing-along came less than a week after Dion returned for her first full concert in more than six years. Her Paris engagement opened Sept. 12 after the COVID-19 pandemic interrupted her Courage World Tour and health complications related to stiff-person syndrome later prevented her from returning to a regular concert schedule.

The scene outside the hotel looked very different from the elaborate production Dion had just left behind at the arena. She had changed into loose-fitting pants and a bomber-style jacket and wore her hair pulled back in a low bun. People who appeared to be members of her security team remained nearby while fans filmed the encounter.
Dion first sat cross-legged on the hood after removing her slippers. As “Pour que tu m’aimes encore” played, she sang along, tapped her feet to the beat and gestured toward the crowd as fans joined in.
At one point, she stretched out across the hood and rolled onto her stomach before laughing and getting back up. She later stood on the vehicle, continued clapping and singing, and eventually said goodbye with a hand-heart gesture, People reported.
‘Pour Que Tu M’aimes Encore’ Had Already Closed Her Concert That Night
The song was more than a random choice from the crowd. According to the Sept. 18 setlist currently published by Ticketmaster, Dion had already performed “Pour que tu m’aimes encore” as the final song of that evening’s concert at Plenitude Arena.
“Pour que tu m’aimes encore” dates to 1995 and appeared on Dion’s French-language album D’eux. Her official website describes D’eux as the best-selling French-language album of all time.
The current concert also moves between Dion’s French and English catalogs. The Sept. 18 set included “On ne change pas,” “Because You Loved Me,” “The Power of Love,” “My Heart Will Go On,” “It’s All Coming Back to Me Now” and “All by Myself” before the closing French-language hit.

Dion opened the engagement at Plenitude Arena in Nanterre on Sept. 12, performing a complete concert for the first time since March 8, 2020. During opening song “On ne change pas,” Dion paused as she took in the crowd before later speaking about the promise she had made to return.
“I made a promise to come back, to be back on stage,” she told the audience, according to People. “So here I am, singing for you and singing for me, singing life!”
Her last full concert before Paris had taken place at Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey, during the Courage World Tour. The remaining dates were initially postponed as COVID-19 spread in March 2020. Dion subsequently faced health problems and revealed in 2022 that she had been diagnosed with stiff-person syndrome.
She did return for individual performances before this year’s run, most notably singing “Hymne à l’amour” from the Eiffel Tower during the 2024 Paris Olympics opening ceremony.
Dion Has 26 Paris Shows on the Comeback Schedule
Dion’s official Paris schedule lists 16 performances from Sept. 12 through Oct. 17, followed by another 10 shows beginning May 8, 2027 and ending May 29. That makes 26 performances in total at Plenitude Arena, the Nanterre venue formerly known as Paris La Défense Arena.
The Associated Press reported that Dion’s opening show ran for approximately two hours and 15 minutes, with the singer returning only four days later for the second performance. The current block continues with dates on Sept. 23, 25, 26 and 30 before moving into October.
