Cristiano Ronaldo and Georgina Rodríguez exchanged vows inside their new mansion near Lisbon with only four witnesses and the five children in their family present, according to new details from the couple’s marriage certificate.
The soccer star, 41, and the model, 32, married at approximately 1:30 p.m. on Aug. 11 in the exclusive Quinta da Marinha area of Cascais. The newly completed property has previously been valued at approximately €35 million.
Ronaldo’s mother, Dolores Aveiro, and his siblings Hugo, Elma and Katia did not attend the civil ceremony, according to the Daily Mail, which also reported confirmation of the marriage from a representative for the player. Georgina’s sister Ivana was among the four people who served as witnesses.
Dolores responded to her son’s wedding announcement with a heart emoji, while Ronaldo has pushed back against speculation about how much his relatives knew beforehand.
The Marriage Certificate Names Four Witnesses
Portuguese newspaper Jornal de Notícias obtained the marriage record and reported that the ceremony took place at the couple’s Cascais home. The document identified the four witnesses as Ivana Rodríguez, Ronaldo’s longtime friend Miguel Paixão, Spanish jeweler José Rodríguez Sangil and Sangil’s wife, Mónica González Martínez.
Registrar Maria Manuel Ferreira de Campos Folhadela de Oliveira traveled from Porto to conduct the ceremony, according to a review of the records. Cristiano Jr., twins Eva and Mateo, Alana and Bella were also present. The certificate provides a few other details about the marriage. Ronaldo and Rodríguez kept their existing surnames and continued to list Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, as their habitual residence.
They also selected a separation-of-property regime. The couple signed the required prenuptial agreement at a Lisbon notary’s office on Aug. 10, one day before the wedding, meaning each spouse generally retains ownership of assets held individually before and during the marriage, while property they acquire jointly can still belong to both.
The Quinta da Marinha property was completed after more than three years of construction and later valued at approximately €35 million, making it one of Portugal’s most expensive residential properties.
Ronaldo’s Mother and Siblings Were Not at the Ceremony
The newly revealed guest details attracted particular attention because none of Ronaldo’s immediate family members were among those present. His mother, Dolores, and siblings Hugo, Elma and Katia were absent from the intimate civil wedding.
Their absence has prompted speculation, but neither Ronaldo nor his mother has publicly said it reflected a disagreement. Dolores left a heart beneath the wedding announcement. Katia also reacted affectionately online, undercutting attempts to treat the family’s absence as proof of a serious falling-out.
Portuguese television presenter Cristina Ferreira subsequently suggested Ronaldo’s relatives may have learned about the ceremony only shortly before it occurred. Ronaldo responded publicly by saying her television channel knew “very little,” without explaining what his family had been told or why they were not present.
The Couple Announced the Wedding With Two Gold Bands

Ronaldo’s management confirmed to Reuters that the couple had married in a private civil ceremony in Cascais. Ronaldo then posted a tightly cropped photograph of their hands wearing matching gold wedding bands, captioned simply, “C❤️G.”
The discreet home ceremony followed days of incorrect speculation that the couple planned to marry at Funchal Cathedral on Ronaldo’s native island of Madeira. Hundreds of people gathered outside the cathedral on Aug. 8 expecting Ronaldo and Rodríguez to appear. Instead, the church was hosting an unrelated couple’s wedding. Ronaldo later reacted to footage of the mix-up with laughing emojis.
The eventual ceremony in Cascais was much closer to the type of celebration Ronaldo had previously said Rodríguez preferred. During an interview with Piers Morgan, Ronaldo said Rodríguez did not want a large celebration and preferred “private things.” At the time, he also said they intended to marry after the 2026 World Cup.
They Married Exactly One Year After Announcing Their Engagement

Rodríguez announced their engagement on Aug. 11, 2025, exactly one year before the couple’s civil wedding. She shared a photograph of her hand resting over Ronaldo’s, displaying an enormous oval-cut diamond engagement ring.
“Sí, quiero. En esta y en todas mis vidas,” she wrote in Spanish, meaning, “Yes, I do. In this and in all my lives.” Ronaldo later said the proposal itself was considerably more spontaneous than the ring suggested. During his interview with Morgan, he recalled that it happened at around 1 a.m., with his daughters unexpectedly entering the room and encouraging him to ask Rodríguez to marry him.
Ronaldo and Rodríguez have been together since 2016, according to Reuters. Their relationship became public the following year, and they made a major public appearance together at the Best FIFA Football Awards in January 2017.
Ronaldo Returned to Al-Nassr Days After the Wedding
The private ceremony did not produce a lengthy break from Ronaldo’s football schedule. He returned to Saudi Arabia and was back training with Al-Nassr by Aug. 13, posting photographs from the session with the brief caption, “Back.”
New Al-Nassr coach Ange Postecoglou also congratulated Ronaldo on his marriage in front of the squad, prompting applause from teammates and staff.
The timing put Ronaldo back with the club ahead of its first Saudi Pro League match of the 2026-27 season. Al-Nassr’s official schedule lists its league opener against Al-Fateh at Al-Awwal Park in Riyadh on Aug. 15.
