Elle King and Dan Tooker have made it to the altar after a relationship that included an engagement, two children, time apart and an eventual reconciliation.

The “Ex’s & Oh’s” singer revealed on October 4 that she and Tooker had married the previous day, sharing photographs from a wooded outdoor ceremony with their family and friends. “Husband and wife. Best day of my life,” King wrote alongside the wedding carousel.

PEOPLE reported that the 37-year-old singer wore a fitted ivory satin gown with a plunging neckline, dramatic flared skirt, train and sheer veil. Tooker chose a dark charcoal double-breasted suit, black shirt and white boutonniere.

Their sons, Lucky Levi and Royal, were part of the celebration, while videos reposted by the newlyweds showed King and Tooker singing together onstage and walking with the boys. The wedding comes roughly two years after King announced that she and Tooker had reconciled following a period apart.

The couple exchanged vows surrounded by greenery and white floral arrangements, allowing the natural setting to provide much of the ceremony’s backdrop.

King’s Instagram carousel offered the first look at the newlyweds after the ceremony. Tooker also reposted photographs and videos from guests on his Instagram Stories, giving followers a wider view of the reception.

Just Jared separately reported that the October 3 wedding took place in a forest setting and that both newlyweds shared additional moments from friends who attended. The couple has kept the precise venue private in the wedding announcements released so far.

Lucky Levi, 5, and Royal, 19 months, appeared throughout the family moments shared from the celebration. One video showed King and Tooker walking with both boys, while other footage captured the newlyweds enjoying the reception together.

King and Tooker welcomed Lucky on September 1, 2021. King announced his birth several days later, writing that they had welcomed “8 lbs 1 oz of absolute joy and love earthside.”

Their family grew again in February 2025. King and Tooker introduced Royal in a joint post that read, “Our family just got a little bit brighter. Welcome to the world Royal Tooker,” according to Us Weekly.

They Rebuilt Their Relationship After Time Apart

King signaled that the couple had separated in 2023 and later confirmed that they had spent time apart. By September 2024, however, she was ready to announce a different development. “We’re back together,” King said at the time. “We had to grow.”

She explained that continuing to raise Lucky together helped bring them back toward each other. King said they eventually reached a point where both recognized that their family deserved another serious attempt at the relationship.

“We have everything that both of us have ever wanted right here,” she said. “Let’s put our weapons down. Come on. This is it. This is life.”

King described the reconciliation as a chance to wipe the slate clean and put their energy into the family they had created. The pair also bought a home together in the Nashville mountains as they began what King called a fresh start. Five days after publicly confirming the reconciliation, King announced that she and Tooker were expecting another boy.

By June 2026, the relationship had moved considerably beyond the uncertainty of their separation. In a Father’s Day post, King called Tooker “the love of my life” and praised him as a role model for both of their sons.

Their First Engagement Involved Two Rings and the Same Proposal Plan

The couple’s eventual wedding arrived almost exactly six years after an engagement that was unconventional from the beginning. King met Tooker in 2019 when she visited his tattoo shop for new ink. They became a couple and marked their first anniversary the following October with a trip to New Mexico.

King had already decided she wanted to propose. According to her account at the time, the pair rode horses into the mountains to go gold panning. She had secretly brought a ring and planned to place it in the pan before asking Tooker to marry her.

Tooker had independently devised essentially the same proposal. “My soulmate beat me to the punch and proposed to me the exact same way,” King wrote after the trip.

She immediately got down on one knee with the ring she had brought for him, adding, “I said Yes by the way and so did he!” Entertainment Tonight documented the double proposal in October 2020, when King and Tooker were celebrating one year together.
