Gisele Bündchen celebrated Joaquim Valente’s 39th birthday with a rare photograph of the couple smiling together. The Brazilian supermodel shared the picture on Instagram Stories on November 7th, adding an affectionate message in Portuguese for her husband.
Bündchen, 46, wrapped her arm around Valente as they posed for the camera. She wore a mustard-yellow mesh halter top and gold hoop earrings, with her blonde hair in loose waves, while he wore a light green button-up shirt.
It was his first birthday since their wedding, with the couple now approaching their first anniversary. They have generally kept their relationship private, sharing occasional photographs of family celebrations and time with their children.
Valente teaches Brazilian jiu-jitsu alongside his brothers, Pedro and Gui, at their family academy in the Miami area.
Gisele Bündchen Shares a Loving Birthday Message for Joaquim Valente
“Today a great man was born,” Bündchen wrote, tagging @joaquimvalente, according to PEOPLE’s translation. “How lucky I am. I love you so much!”
A year earlier, Bündchen had marked Valente’s birthday with a different family scene. Her November 2025 Instagram Story showed them walking hand in hand along a beach at sunset, with their baby nestled in a carrier against her body and his feet visible below.
That caption also used their native Portuguese, wishing Valente a happy birthday and telling him she loved him. Their wedding was still several weeks away.
Bündchen and Valente Married After Welcoming Their Son
Their relationship began with a connection through Bündchen’s older son, Benjamin. She took him to jiu-jitsu classes before becoming interested in the practice herself, bringing her into contact with Valente long before they became a couple.
They were photographed together in Costa Rica in November 2022, but their friendship developed into a romance later. PEOPLE previously reported that they began dating in June 2023. A source confirmed the relationship to the magazine the following February.
News of their first child together, a boy, emerged in February 2025. The couple have kept his first name private.
On December 3rd, 2025, they married in a small ceremony in Surfside, Florida. The wedding became public later that month, when PEOPLE reported on December 19th that it had reviewed their marriage records.
Bündchen also shares Benjamin, 16, and daughter Vivian, 13, with her former husband, retired NFL quarterback Tom Brady. Her recent descriptions of life at home have included all three children spending time together.
In a September 10th interview with i-D, she described having another baby at this stage of her life as a gift. She had become a mother again at 44 and said her priorities had changed.
“I don’t have anything to prove,” she said.
Bündchen explained that she turns down most of the jobs she is offered, weighing assignments against time with her children. Missing Vivian’s volleyball games, a trip to the park with her youngest or Benjamin DJing all factor into those decisions.
During the interview, she showed writer Steff Yotka videos of Benjamin DJing in his bedroom while his little brother danced beside him. Other clips captured Vivian playing volleyball and taking part in a dance class with her mother.
Her Father’s Day Tribute Included All Three Children
Bündchen’s June 21st Father’s Day post offered another look at Valente with their family. One photograph showed the couple and their son on a beach beneath a rainbow, with the baby held in a carrier against her chest.
In another, Valente lay on a blue mat with their baby against his chest. Father and son wore matching white jiu-jitsu uniforms.
The collection also included photographs with the older children. Vivian wrapped her arms around Valente’s neck, while Benjamin stood back-to-back with him to compare their heights.
In the accompanying message, reproduced by Us Weekly, Bündchen thanked her husband for setting an example through qualities including humility, integrity, kindness and consistency.
“You are an incredible role model,” she wrote.
She also honored her father, Valdir, thanking him for his love, guidance and support throughout her life. A family photograph showed him surrounded by five of his six children, including Bündchen and her twin sister, Patricia.

Valente accompanied Bündchen to Lotus House’s annual fundraiser on October 29th, just over a week before his birthday. The event took place at The Margulies Warehouse in Miami’s Wynwood neighborhood, with a Halloween theme of “Sparkles and Costumes.”
Bündchen wore a plaid shirt, jeans and a cowboy hat, arranging her hair in two long braids. Valente coordinated with a brown vest over a light shirt, jeans and a prominent belt buckle.
She and fellow model Karlie Kloss received the organization’s It Takes a Village award for their support of its work with women and children experiencing homelessness. Photographs from the evening showed the couple alongside Kloss and Lotus House founder Constance Collins.
Bündchen shared her own pictures afterward, thanking Collins, the organization’s staff and its volunteers. In a statement released for the event, she spoke about the difference their work makes for families seeking support.
“It reminds me that even the smallest acts of kindness can grow into something extraordinary,” she said.
Her work with the organization predates that evening. Lotus House previously credited Bündchen with donating $1 million to build a playground at the Children’s Village and identified her as a longtime board member.
The Children’s Village opened in Miami’s Overtown neighborhood in November 2025. Located across from the Lotus Village shelter, it brought together 14 nonprofit partners providing early childhood education, after-school activities, therapy, healthcare and other services for children and families.
