Bonnie Wright says her newborn son, Aster, has been to the hospital six times in his first five weeks. The actress, who played Ginny Weasley in the Harry Potter films, shared the update on Instagram on November 6.
He is receiving treatment for a condition his family knew about before his birth. Wright did not disclose its name or explain what the medical care involves.
Aster was born on September 28 and is Wright’s second child with husband Andrew Lococo. Their older son, Elio, turned three that same month.
Wright, 35, and Lococo married in March 2022. She announced her second pregnancy in April with photographs of Elio on her lap and the caption “Two babies on my lap.”

The photograph accompanying the update showed Wright holding Aster against her chest, with a white heart emoji covering his face. She described him as a “strong, chill little baby,” according to E! News.
Relatives and friends have been taking Elio to preschool, preparing meals and checking in on the family, Wright said in the caption reproduced by The Sun. She expressed gratitude for their help and encouraged others to reach out: “The village is possible, text/call your pals.”

Wright introduced Aster Sky Wright Lococo in October with photographs from his first weeks, including one of Elio leaning toward his brother’s stroller. She explained that his first name came from the star-shaped aster flower, as PEOPLE reported.
The announcement also revealed that Aster had been born at home. Wright thanked the people who supported the delivery, tagging @umamother and @meaghan_snider_ in her caption, and described the affection Elio had already shown his younger brother.
Her former Harry Potter castmates joined the congratulations. Evanna Lynch, who played Luna Lovegood, praised the baby’s name, while Katie Leung, who portrayed Cho Chang, encouraged Wright to rest, Entertainment Weekly reported.
Wright Had Described a More Demanding Second Pregnancy
On July 30, Wright wrote about the physical demands of preparing for another child in her Hello Earthling newsletter. She was caring for a toddler, sleeping less than she wanted and trying to finish work before maternity leave.
She recalled filming her Go Gently documentary series during her first pregnancy and editing it through the early postpartum months. After Elio arrived, the demands of being his primary source of nourishment had been harder to adjust to than she anticipated.
Preparing for another child also meant holding different feelings at once. She wanted to switch off from work while knowing she would miss it, and she could feel creative one day and entirely absorbed in being a mother the next. “I can love Elio as much as I do and have room to love another baby,” she wrote.
