Heather McComb has shared a joyful new chapter with actor Scott Michael Campbell.
The actress announced that she and Campbell married in Missoula, Montana, in an outdoor ceremony surrounded by family and friends. InStyle reported that the ceremony took place outdoors in a garden, with McComb wearing a white lace dress and Campbell choosing a white jacket with black pants.
McComb shared the news herself on Instagram, writing that she and Campbell were officially married “under the covenant of God” in one of their favorite cities. Her message focused on gratitude, faith, and the loved ones who traveled to celebrate with them.

McComb wrote that she and Campbell were married by @essence_says, whom she called her “beautiful sister,” and surrounded by the people they love most.
PEOPLE reported that the wedding took place Saturday, May 30. The bridal party was large by intimate-wedding standards, with 13 friends on McComb’s side and 12 groomsmen for Campbell.
Campbell also posted about the ceremony, calling the week “beyond blessed” and thanking the family and friends who celebrated with them.
The Ceremony Took Place in Missoula

Missoula was not treated as a random wedding backdrop in McComb’s announcement. She described the Montana city as one of their favorite places, and the outdoor setting gave the ceremony a personal, relaxed tone.
Photos from the day showed McComb in a lace gown with a long train and veil, while Campbell wore a white tuxedo-style jacket with black pants and a black tie.
The wedding followed the couple’s April 2025 engagement. McComb announced that milestone in a Montana post as well, writing at the time that Campbell had proposed by the river.
McComb Was Previously Married to James Van Der Beek
McComb was previously married to Dawson’s Creek star James Van Der Beek. The two married in 2003, separated in 2009, and finalized their divorce in 2010.
InStyle reported that McComb and Van Der Beek met in the 1990s through McComb’s sister Jennifer McComb, who appeared on Dawson’s Creek. Van Der Beek later married Kimberly Van Der Beek in 2010, and they shared six children.
Van Der Beek died Feb. 11, 2026, at age 48 after battling colorectal cancer. After his death, McComb shared a tribute on Instagram, remembering their long connection and expressing heartbreak for Kimberly, their children, and his extended family.
That history is part of the public context, but McComb’s new post was not framed as a comment on grief or on her former marriage. It was a celebration of her marriage to Campbell, the people who gathered in Montana, and the new life chapter they are beginning together.
