Helen Mirren has given Tom Hardy a public show of support while reports continue to circle around his future on MobLand.
The Oscar-winning actress posted a photo of Hardy on Instagram with a short handwritten-style message: “Love you now and always,” signed “Helen.” PEOPLE reported that the post came amid claims of production tension and questions about whether Hardy would return for a possible third season of the Paramount+ crime drama.
Mirren did not answer the reports directly. She did something more pointed for a story built mostly on unnamed sources: she put a public message of affection next to Hardy’s name.

Entertainment Weekly reported that Mirren shared the message after multiple reports questioned Hardy’s standing on MobLand. Her post did not deny the reports or explain what happened behind the scenes.
It did make her public position hard to miss. Mirren was not distancing herself from Hardy while the conversation around him grew louder.
The Reports Focused on Alleged On-Set Tension
Reports about Hardy’s future on MobLand have centered on alleged issues during production of the show’s second season. Entertainment Weekly reported that stories had surfaced about tension behind the scenes, including allegations that Hardy’s lateness frustrated members of the cast and crew.
Hardy, Mirren, Paramount+, and 101 Studios have not publicly confirmed the full version of events. The reporting around Hardy’s future has also shifted since the first claims surfaced.
Hardy Was Reportedly Not Fired
Some reports initially claimed Hardy had been fired after season 2, but later coverage disputed that. Page Six covered Mirren’s post after Variety reported that Hardy was not fired and that discussions about his possible season 3 return were still ongoing.
That leaves the story in a messier place than a simple exit headline. MobLand has completed season 2, but Hardy’s status beyond that has not been resolved publicly.
MobLand Puts Hardy and Mirren in the Same Crime Family

MobLand stars Hardy as Harry Da Souza, a fixer for a London crime family led by Pierce Brosnan’s Conrad Harrigan and Mirren’s Maeve Harrigan. The series became a major Paramount+ title, so uncertainty around Hardy’s future is not a routine casting question.
Mirren’s name also sharpened the coverage. Reports mentioning alleged delays around scenes involving one of the industry’s most respected performers were always going to travel quickly.
Mirren Has Praised Hardy Before
This was not the first time Mirren used social media to support Hardy. Entertainment Weekly noted that after earlier reports about alleged lateness surfaced, Mirren posted about things she loved, including Hardy’s brilliance on screen, dedication off screen, good heart, and the hugs she gets from him on set.
Her latest post now reads less like a random tribute and more like a second public vote of confidence while MobLand questions remain unresolved.
