Kelley Wolf has apologized to estranged husband Scott Wolf and their three children after a year that pulled the family’s private crisis into court filings, social media posts and public scrutiny.
In an 11-slide Instagram statement shared August 28, the former Real World: New Orleans cast member said she had spent the past year working with doctors, therapists and psychologists. She said she was told she had experienced what she described as “breakthrough drug-induced mania with psychosis.”
Kelley wrote that she did not understand how unwell she was at the time. She described delusional thinking, including beliefs that she was connected to the CIA and running for president, and said her statements and accusations during that period were not grounded in reality.
Her most direct words were for Scott and their children, Jackson, Miller and Lucy Marie. Kelley thanked Scott for continuing to help her through the crisis and wrote, “I owe you my life.”

Kelley opened the post by saying people around her could see she needed help before she could recognize it herself. She said it felt as though her “brain had been hijacked” while events around her moved faster than she could understand.
She wrote that medical professionals later identified the episode as drug-induced mania with psychosis. Kelley attributed it to a combination of stress, past trauma, hormonal shifts and hallucinogens mixed with prescribed medication.
Those details come from Kelley’s own account, not from independently released medical records. She said she is now trying to take responsibility for what happened without defending the things she said while unwell.
She Apologized Directly to Scott and Their Children
Kelley described what Scott lived through as a “nightmare” and apologized for the pain caused by her posts, accusations and behavior.
She also apologized to Jackson, Miller and Lucy Marie. Kelley wrote that protecting them had been her responsibility and said she was sorry that she instead became a source of hurt during the crisis.
“In my illness, I made accusations and did things that make me shudder,” she wrote, according to PEOPLE.
The apology also extended to relatives, friends and the Park City community where the family has lived for years.
The Statement Followed a Difficult Legal Year
Scott filed for divorce in June 2025 after 21 years of marriage. Around the same period, Kelley was placed on an involuntary psychiatric hold.
The months that followed included temporary custody and protective-order proceedings. Kelley was later arrested in August 2025 on suspicion of electronic communication harassment and electronic disclosure of personal identifying information, according to court and sheriff’s records previously reported by PEOPLE.
Several related matters later changed as the family’s circumstances shifted. A restraining-order violation case was dismissed in January 2026, and Scott had previously requested that a temporary protective order be dismissed.
Kelley’s new statement did not try to reargue the earlier accusations. She said plainly that the things she believed at the time were not real.
Scott Responded With Hearts
Scott has not issued a long public statement about Kelley’s apology. He did, however, respond under her Instagram post with five red heart emojis, according to Page Six.
The small response matched the careful tone Scott has used publicly since the family began appearing together again earlier this year.
In March, Scott said he loved Kelley and their three children after they were seen together at Universal Studios Hollywood. He said the family did not want the hardest moments of the previous year to be the only public picture people had of them.

In February, Scott and Kelley appeared together with Jackson, Miller and Lucy Marie at Universal Studios Hollywood. The family posed in front of the park’s globe for a joint Instagram post.
The caption was one word: “Healing.”
Scott later told Us Weekly that going public with the photo was intentional because the family wanted to be seen in a moment that was not defined only by crisis.
Kelley’s August statement now adds her own account of the year that came before that photo.
