Is Barron Trump Really Worth $150 Million at 20? The Crypto Fortune Is More Complicated Than It Looks

Barron Trump is only 20, but a $150 million fortune continues to follow Donald Trump’s youngest son enough, according to one prominent estimate, to put him well ahead of his mother, Melania Trump.

The number comes from Forbes, which estimated Barron’s net worth at $150 million in fall 2025 after examining his presumed interest in the Trump family’s World Liberty Financial crypto venture. Its calculation included estimated proceeds from token sales, a share of the company’s stablecoin business and billions of WLFI tokens attributed to Barron.

Forbes had to make assumptions about how certain family interests were divided, while a substantial portion of its valuation depended on crypto assets that Barron could not freely sell.

WLFI’s market price has fallen more than 80% from its September 2025 high, World Liberty has continued generating enormous sums for the wider Trump family, and there is still no public financial statement showing exactly how much of that money belongs personally to Barron.

How Forbes Reached the $150 Million Estimate

Barron’s reported fortune can be traced overwhelmingly to World Liberty Financial, the crypto venture he co-founded with members of his family and other partners in 2024. Forbes’ detailed October 2025 calculation started with DT Marks DEFI LLC, the entity holding major Trump-family interests connected to World Liberty.

DT Marks received 22.5 billion WLFI tokens when the project launched and was also entitled to 75% of certain token-sale revenue. Donald Trump’s financial disclosure showed him owning 70% of DT Marks DEFI, while other family members owned the remaining 30%.

Because Eric Trump, Donald Trump Jr. and Barron were all involved with World Liberty, Forbes assumed for valuation purposes that the three sons divided that 30% equally. Under that model, Barron effectively received a 10% share. Using that model, the publication estimated that early World Liberty token sales had produced approximately $38 million for Barron after taxes.

It then attributed another estimated $41 million after taxes to Barron from World Liberty’s 2025 transaction with Alt5 Sigma. Forbes also valued his presumed interest in World Liberty’s USD1 stablecoin business at approximately $34 million. Finally, it estimated that Barron controlled approximately 2.25 billion locked WLFI tokens.

Although those tokens would have been worth hundreds of millions of dollars if valued at the market price without restrictions, Forbes heavily discounted them and assigned them a value of about $45 million. Together, those components pushed its estimate above $150 million.

Barron Does Not Have $2.3 Billion Sitting in WLFI

Forbes estimated that he held approximately 2.25 billion WLFI tokens, but that does not mean he owned $2.25 billion worth of WLFI. When Forbes published its detailed estimate in October 2025, WLFI was trading at roughly 20 cents.  CoinGecko listed WLFI at approximately $0.054 on August 10, down more than 80% from its September 2025 all-time high of $0.3313.

At approximately 5.4 cents per token, 2.25 billion WLFI would have a purely mathematical value of roughly $121 million. CoinGecko currently lists more than 57 billion of WLFI’s 100 billion total tokens as locked.

World Liberty’s governance forum has also continued debating what eventually happens to founder, team, adviser and partner allocations. An April 2026 proposal contemplated placing participating holders on a two-year cliff followed by three years of linear vesting, while holders who did not accept the proposed terms would remain locked indefinitely.

Reuters Found Billions for the Trump Family, Not Barron Individually

In a June investigation, Reuters estimated that Trump-family crypto ventures had generated approximately $2.3 billion for the family. World Liberty was the largest component.

Reuters calculated that World Liberty had funneled more than $1.6 billion to the Trump family, including more than $1.4 billion from governance-token sales and approximately $230 million from other ventures.

Donald Trump’s 2025 annual financial disclosure supplied additional evidence of the scale of the business. Reuters reported that his companies received almost $800 million from World Liberty during the year, including more than $520 million from token sales and more than $250 million from sales of interests in the business.

Reuters reported that DT Marks DEFI was 70% owned by the Donald J. Trump Revocable Trust and 30% by other Trump family members. Public disclosures do not identify an individual percentage for Barron within that 30%.

Was Barron Really Estimated to Be Richer Than Melania?

Within Forbes’ own 2025 estimates, yes. Forbes’ September Trump-family ranking listed Barron at approximately $150 million and Melania at more than $20 million.

Figures of approximately $70 million have also circulated for Melania, but that was not the figure Forbes used in the family ranking that placed Barron ahead of her. There is newer financial information about Melania, although income in a particular year is not the same thing as total net worth.

Donald Trump’s latest certified annual financial disclosure reported more than $17 million in 2025 income connected with his wife, according to subsequent reporting on the filing. That included a $10.71 million licensing payment connected with her Amazon documentary, approximately $521,000 from her memoir and more than $6 million from NFTs and other collectibles.

World Liberty is no longer Barron’s only publicly documented business venture. He is listed as a director of SOLLOS Yerba Mate, a Palm Beach, Florida-based beverage company created with a group of other young entrepreneurs.

People reported, citing public filings, that SOLLOS raised $1 million through a private placement before its product launch. The company subsequently introduced its first drink, Pineapple + Coconut yerba mate.

The company’s current online store lists its Pineapple + Coconut drink at $39 for a 12-pack. Each can contains 50 calories and 120 milligrams of natural caffeine.
