Jack Schlossberg was asked on SiriusXM’s Andy Cohen Live about Madonna’s recent comment involving his late uncle, John F. Kennedy Jr.
The question came during a campaign interview with Andy Cohen, who asked Schlossberg whether he had any reaction to Madonna naming JFK Jr. while discussing her past relationships.
People reported that Schlossberg paused and reminded Cohen, “I’m running for office,” before answering, “I bet she was right.”
Schlossberg, the son of Caroline Kennedy and grandson of President John F. Kennedy, is running for New York’s 12th Congressional District.
Cohen Asked the Question During a SiriusXM Interview
Entertainment Weekly reported that Cohen told Schlossberg he had a “random question” before bringing up Madonna’s comment. Cohen asked whether Schlossberg chuckled when he heard Madonna talk about JFK Jr. that way.
Schlossberg started to answer, then Cohen joked that he was watching him figure out what he could say as a candidate. The clip moved quickly from campaign talk to a Kennedy-family curveball, but Schlossberg kept the answer to one line.
Madonna Made the JFK Jr. Comment in a Grindr Video
Madonna made the original comment in a Grindr video tied to promotion for Confessions II. E! News reported that she was asked about the best sex she had ever had and said she would “only name dead people” before naming John Kennedy Jr.
People also reported on Madonna’s comment when the Grindr video was released in late May. JFK Jr. died in a 1999 plane crash with his wife, Carolyn Bessette Kennedy, and her sister, Lauren Bessette.
The Interview Also Covered Kennedy Family Items
Cohen also asked Schlossberg whether he owned clothing or other items from his grandfather and uncle. People reported that Schlossberg said he was wearing one of President Kennedy’s ties during the interview and called it his favorite.
When Cohen asked about items from JFK Jr., Schlossberg said he had one of his uncle’s watches, though it no longer works. Entertainment Weekly reported that he joked many of his uncle’s Kennedy heirlooms had been lost.
