Kourtney Kardashian says Jennifer Lawrence reached out privately after calling her “more annoying than ever” in a video interview.
Kourtney discussed the message with her friend Simon Huck in the Season 8 premiere of The Kardashians, which began streaming on Hulu on Oct. 8.
“She’s like, ‘I just feel like I’m one of your sisters,’” Kourtney recalled of Lawrence’s email, according to E! News.
“When I rewatched it, I was like, ‘Oh, it’s not that bad actually,’” Kourtney said of the clip.
Lawrence Asked Kim for Kourtney’s Email Address
Lawrence contacted Kim Kardashian to get her sister’s email address before writing directly to Kourtney, PEOPLE reported. Kourtney called the message “so nice” and said she had seen it late the previous night.
She had not replied at the time of the filmed conversation and was considering what to say. Kourtney also explained that the email had arrived during a difficult week, when episodes of the family’s show were airing and she felt that “everybody was ganging up on me.”
Kourtney Suggested a ‘Kourtney and Kim’ Response
Kourtney recalled her mother, Kris Jenner, praising Lawrence and Emma Stone after speaking with them. “F— that bitch Jennifer Lawrence,” she said she responded.
Kourtney joked that she had told Jenner she could slap Lawrence if the actress wanted to be treated like one of her sisters. “Next time you wanna come over, we can go at it, Kourtney and Kim style,” she suggested as a possible reply.
Kourtney and Kim’s physical altercation aired during Season 18 of Keeping Up With the Kardashians in 2020. Huck encouraged the proposed joke, saying Lawrence would recognize the reference.
Lawrence Complained About Kourtney’s ‘Announcements’
Lawrence made the original comments in a Vanity Fair lie-detector video released Nov. 7, 2025, alongside her Die My Love costar Robert Pattinson.
Asked whether she was still keeping up with the Kardashians, Lawrence said she had been following through TikTok instead of watching that season. She confirmed that Khloé Kardashian remained her favorite before volunteering her complaint about Kourtney.
Lawrence’s examples included Kourtney saying she would no longer wear “outfits” and did not keep a television in her bedroom. “Everything has to be an announcement,” Lawrence complained. Pattinson then asked whether Lawrence had any announcements of her own. She jokingly told him, “I’m in love with you.”
Kris Jenner Was a Guest at Lawrence’s Wedding
Jenner first met Lawrence when she appeared as a surprise guest at the actress’s 25th birthday celebration, according to Vogue. Lawrence was already an enthusiastic viewer of Keeping Up With the Kardashians.
In November 2017, Lawrence interviewed Kim while guest-hosting Jimmy Kimmel Live! Their conversation included Lawrence’s visit to the family’s home and her evening drinking with Jenner.
Jenner and her partner, Corey Gamble, later attended Lawrence’s October 2019 wedding to Cooke Maroney at the Belcourt of Newport mansion in Rhode Island.
Lawrence Revisited the Remark on ‘Good Hang’
During Lawrence’s Jan. 20, 2026, appearance on Good Hang, Amy Poehler asked how she balances being candid with deciding what to keep private.
Lawrence used the headline about calling Kourtney annoying as an example. “I think that when I do press, I should do half of what normal people do,” she said, according to PEOPLE.
“Because I see my quotes and they’re insane,” Lawrence added.
