New York Giants offensive tackle Jermaine Eluemunor believes Jaxson Dart’s ceiling extends far beyond a productive second NFL season.
During an interview with TMZ Sports, Eluemunor said the 22-year-old “can be the best quarterback in the NFL.” The veteran lineman praised Dart’s talent, preparation and growing authority inside the Giants’ locker room.
Dart has completed only one professional season and is preparing to work under a new coaching staff led by John Harbaugh.
Dart threw for 2,272 yards and accounted for 24 touchdowns while adding a dangerous running element to New York’s offense.
Eluemunor Believes Dart Can Help Restore the Giants
Eluemunor included Dart while describing why he believes the Giants have enough talent to become competitive. He pointed to left tackle Andrew Thomas, running back Cam Skattebo and rookie linebacker Arvell Reese among the pieces surrounding the young quarterback. “We have an up-and-coming quarterback who I think can be the best quarterback in the NFL,” Eluemunor said.
He later called Dart a “fricking amazing player” and predicted that the quarterback would make a significant jump during the 2026 season. Eluemunor tied that expectation to Dart’s determination to help restore a franchise that has reached the playoffs only twice since winning Super Bowl XLVI.
The tackle also praised Dart’s daily routine, describing him as one of the first players to arrive at the team facility and one of the last to leave. Veteran players have noticed him becoming more comfortable in a leadership role as the Giants reshape their offense around him. “Now everyone believes in him,” Eluemunor said.
Eluemunor Has Shared Offenses With Tom Brady and Lamar Jackson
Eluemunor’s NFL career has placed him around two quarterbacks with sharply different styles. He began his career with the Baltimore Ravens while Lamar Jackson was emerging as their starter and later spent two seasons with the New England Patriots, including Tom Brady’s final year with the franchise.
Brady won seven Super Bowls during his career, while Jackson became one of the league’s most productive dual-threat quarterbacks.
Dart Produced One of the Best Rookie Seasons by a Giants Quarterback
Dart appeared in 14 games after the Giants selected him with the 25th overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. He completed 63.7% of his passes for 2,272 yards, 15 touchdowns and five interceptions, according to his official Giants statistics.
His passing total was the second highest by a rookie in franchise history. Dart also rushed 86 times for 487 yards and nine touchdowns, leading all 2025 rookie quarterbacks in rushing yards, rushing scores and passer rating.
The nine rushing touchdowns established a Giants single-season record for a quarterback and gave Dart 24 total scores. He became the first rookie quarterback in NFL history to record a rushing touchdown in five consecutive games.
Dart Will Enter Year 2 Under John Harbaugh
The Giants hired Harbaugh as their head coach in January after his long tenure with the Ravens. Matt Nagy will oversee the offense as coordinator, while former head coaches Greg Roman and Brian Callahan are also part of Harbaugh’s staff.
Harbaugh has said the Giants will continue using Dart’s running ability rather than removing it from the offense. The coach has also emphasized that the quarterback must learn to protect himself and determine when extending a play is worth the additional risk. Asked what Giants fans should expect when Dart takes the field in his second season, Eluemunor answered, “Lights out.”
