Kenny Loggins revealed that he secretly married longtime partner Lisa Hawkins while discussing his new documentary at the Grammy Museum in Los Angeles.
During the September 17 screening of Kenny Loggins: Conviction of the Heart, the 78-year-old singer paused during a Q&A to recognize Hawkins. “I want to take a moment and acknowledge my wife, Lisa,” he said, according to People.
The documentary includes a personal photograph of Loggins and Hawkins after they eloped in Hawaii. Neither Loggins nor Hawkins has publicly disclosed when the ceremony took place.
Directed by Dori Berinstein, Conviction of the Heart follows Loggins from his years with Loggins and Messina through his solo career and the movie soundtrack hits that included “Footloose” and “Danger Zone.” The Grammy Museum event included a post-screening conversation and short performance.
Loggins Had Already Started Building a Quieter Life With Hawkins
Loggins first publicly discussed his relationship with Hawkins in a 2023 AARP interview, when he said they had been together for five years.
Spending more time with Hawkins and his grandchildren influenced his decision to end the demanding schedule of major touring. Loggins said he wanted to devote more attention to the relationship rather than continue allowing the road to dominate his time.
The couple had already experienced a slower version of life together during the pandemic. Loggins recalled buying e-bikes with Hawkins, riding around town and enjoying days that were no longer controlled by a touring schedule.
Hawkins later traveled with him when he returned to the road, while Loggins completed his This Is It! farewell tour in 2023. He emphasized at the time that he was stepping away from extensive touring rather than ending his professional career altogether.
Hunter Hawkins Has Become One of Loggins’ Musical Collaborators
Loggins also spoke at the September screening about Hawkins’ 25-year-old daughter, singer-songwriter Hunter Hawkins, whose music he has been producing.
“Being in the studio with her and working out new ideas is the most fun I’m having right now,” Loggins said, according to People. He joked that Hunter now handles some of the higher notes when they perform together.
Hunter has appeared onstage with Loggins and released music through Red Van Records in 2026. Loggins produced Hunter’s debut single “Here Now” and has remained involved with the upcoming album Awake.
Their collaboration also reached the Songwriters Hall of Fame induction ceremony in June, where Hunter joined Loggins during a performance honoring his career.
Loggins and Hawkins Also Started a Charity Pickleball Tournament
Loggins and Hawkins have extended their partnership into fundraising through the Kenny Loggins Pickleball in the Danger Zone Tournament in Santa Barbara.
The event benefits Unity Shoppe, a local nonprofit that provides food, clothing and other essentials to people affected by poverty, health emergencies and natural disasters.
Loggins told Santa Barbara station KEYT that the tournament was designed to remain lighthearted rather than intensely competitive, with the emphasis on participants enjoying themselves while supporting the organization.
The project adds another shared activity to a relationship that has increasingly centered on Loggins’ home life in Montecito after decades spent regularly traveling for performances.
