Kristin Cavallari was cited for allegedly driving a black Porsche 911 at 88 mph in a 70 mph zone on a Tennessee highway, according to a traffic citation obtained by TMZ.

The officer stopped her on October 14, 2026. Details of the encounter became public when the outlet reported on the citation a week later.

Cavallari, 39, became known to television audiences through MTV’s Laguna Beach and The Hills before building a career in fashion and business.

A representative was not immediately available for comment when Page Six covered the incident. Neither a fine amount nor a resolution of the citation was included in the initial reports.

The Officer Described Her Passing Another Vehicle

The officer’s account placed Cavallari in the highway’s number one lane, passing another vehicle. During their conversation, she told the officer she was heading to her business.

The original report did not identify the precise stretch of highway or name a particular store as her destination.

Uncommon James Grew From Jewelry to a Nashville Flagship

Cavallari founded Uncommon James in 2017, starting with jewelry after working on other fashion collaborations.

In a March interview with Glamour, she recalled wanting more creative control after earlier partnerships restricted her ideas. She moved from the initial concept to launching the brand in five months.

“I’m still 100% owner, and I’m really proud of that,” she told the magazine.

The first store opened in March 2018, with just over 3,500 square feet housing retail space and offices supporting online orders, according to WWD.

Viewers followed the preparations on Very Cavallari. The first season ended with the store’s opening celebration, as E! News documented at the time.

She also told Glamour that demand from the series emptied the website. But many customers on the waiting list never bought the restocked items, leaving excess inventory the company eventually gave away.

The product range has grown to include candles, fragrance, apparel and accessories. Cavallari also introduced Uncommon Beauty in 2021, adding skincare to the company, according to its official history.

Its store directory lists the Nashville flagship at 601 Ninth Avenue South in the Gulch, alongside locations in Chicago, Charleston and Austin.

Her 2013 Traffic Stop Required a Trip to the Police Station

On September 6, 2013, an officer stopped Cavallari on Sheridan Road near Calvary Cemetery in Evanston, Illinois, and ticketed her for excessive speed. Evanston Police Cmdr. Jason Parrott described the encounter to Patch, but police did not release how fast she had been traveling.

She had recently married Jay Cutler, then the Chicago Bears quarterback, and was living in the Chicago area.

Cavallari presented a California driver’s license. ABC7 Chicago reported that California did not participate in the relevant reciprocal licensing agreement, requiring her to go to the Evanston Police Station and post a $150 bond.

Cavallari responded on Twitter after the incident: “FYI…I still have an apartment in LA so I’m a resident of California.”
