Kylie Kelce says she does not need a son and she wants people to stop treating her family of six as though something is missing.
During the Thursday, Aug. 20 episode of her Not Gonna Lie podcast, Kelce responded to another question about whether she and husband Jason Kelce would try for a boy. “You’re wrong. I don’t need to have a son,” she said, before offering what she called her “quarterly reminder” that parents with children of one gender should not be asked whether they plan to try for the other.
Kylie, 34, and Jason are parents to Wyatt, 6, Elliotte, 5, Bennett, 3, and Finn, 1. According to PEOPLE’s account of the episode, the question continues to follow her both online and in person.
Her response included a playful apology to “boy moms” and a Beyoncé reference, but her larger point was direct: She and Jason do not consider their family less complete because all four of their children are girls.
Kylie Kelce Says Four Daughters Have Left Their Family Fully Fulfilled
Before explaining why the recurring question bothers her, Kylie joked that she was biased because raising daughters is the only parenting experience she knows. “Who run the world?” she asked, nodding to Beyoncé’s 2011 anthem “Run the World (Girls).”
She then turned to the assumption behind the question. Kylie said she and Jason feel fortunate to have the four children they have and rejected the suggestion that their family should feel incomplete without a boy. “We’re so fortunate to have the children we have,” she said. “And I think that we are not less fulfilled because we have four girls.”
For Kylie, that makes the idea that they need a son to have a fulfilled family “silly.” She also urged people more broadly to stop asking parents with children of one gender whether they intend to keep trying for another.
She Has Already Rejected the Idea That Jason Needs a Son for Football
The same pressure followed Kylie before Finn was born. During a January 2025 appearance on the Sunday Sports Club podcast, she discussed the assumption that Jason should have a son who could follow in his football footsteps.
“People put this strange pressure on the idea that my husband is supposed to have a boy,” Kylie said, describing comments that a son could become a football player and play catch with his father.
Her answer was simple. Jason already does that with his daughters. “I hate to break it to you, but our kids play catch with him all the time. He’s fine.” Jason retired from the NFL in March 2024 after 13 seasons, all with the Philadelphia Eagles.

Kylie announced the arrival of the couple’s fourth daughter in an April 1, 2025 Instagram post. “Whoop, there she is!” she wrote while revealing that Finnley “Finn” Anne Kelce had been born on March 30. Finn joined older sisters Wyatt, Elliotte and Bennett, making Kylie and Jason parents of four girls.
Even before Finn arrived, Kylie was fielding questions about whether the couple might eventually try for a boy. At the time, she described the repeated assumption as frustrating and even joked that, after raising three girls, having a boy would have presented an entirely new dynamic in their household.
