Law Roach Describes Zendaya’s Secret Wedding Dress in Just Three Words

Law Roach has managed to describe Zendaya’s wedding dress without actually revealing what it looked like.

Asked to sum up the still-unseen gown in three words, the actress’ longtime stylist offered a review that doubled as a joke about the fake wedding photographs that spread online earlier this year: “Better than AI.”

The exchange came during Roach’s new interview with Ziwe, released Aug. 16. Ziwe reminded him that he had already said the real dress surpassed the AI-generated versions before asking whether he could provide three words about what Zendaya actually wore. Roach confirmed his earlier opinion and then delivered his carefully chosen answer.

The joke has months of history behind it. AI-generated images purporting to show Zendaya marrying Tom Holland circulated online after Roach revealed in March that the couple had already wed. Holland eventually confirmed the marriage himself in June while explaining why most of his family knew the viral images were fake: “They were all there.”

Roach Found a Way to Answer Without Revealing the Dress

“You recently went on national television and said that Zendaya’s wedding dress was infinitely better than the fake AIs online,” Ziwe said. “Yes,” Roach replied. When she asked him to describe the dress in three words, he answered simply: “Better than AI.”

As PEOPLE reported, that gave Ziwe exactly the number of words she requested while providing virtually no information about the dress itself.

Despite the pair’s long history of producing closely watched red-carpet looks together, her bridal gown remains one of their most closely guarded fashion collaborations.

The AI Wedding Dress Already Got Roach’s Verdict

Roach had been considerably less diplomatic about the artificial version. During a June 29 appearance on Good Morning America, he was shown one of the AI-generated images that had circulated as a supposed glimpse of Zendaya and Holland’s wedding.

“That dress was not good enough,” Roach said. “Trust me, the dress is better than that.” When Lara Spencer asked whether it was fair to say Zendaya’s actual bridal look resembled the artificial image, Roach’s answer was unequivocal. “Absolutely not.”

The fake photographs began circulating after Roach unexpectedly revealed the couple’s marital status at the Actor Awards on March 1. Asked about Zendaya’s wedding plans, he responded that there were no plans left to discuss. “The wedding has already happened,” Roach said at the time. “You missed it.”

Tom Holland Later Confirmed the Wedding Himself

For several months, Roach’s comments remained the clearest public indication that Zendaya and Holland had married. That changed in June.

In an Esquire interview published June 16, Holland discussed the fake AI wedding photographs and revealed that his grandmother had been fooled by them. Asked whether he had needed to reassure other relatives that the images were not genuine, Holland replied, “No, because they were all there.”

Holland has since become less guarded about referring to the marriage itself, including publicly calling Zendaya his wife, while the details of how and where they originally exchanged vows have remained largely private.

Roach Predicted the Public Might Never See the Dress

Roach’s refusal to reveal the gown is consistent with what he was saying long before the wedding was publicly confirmed. During a May 2025 appearance on Complex’s Please Explain, Roach predicted that Zendaya and Holland would keep their ceremony extremely private.

“She and Tom are super private about their relationship,” he said. “They’re trying to be as private as possible.” Roach went even further, predicting there would be no traditional celebrity wedding rollout. “There won’t be a Vogue spread, or there won’t be pictures of the wedding,” he said, adding that the couple’s guests would respect their privacy. “It will be a really beautiful dress that no one gets to see.”

The Couple Later Held a Private Celebration in England

PEOPLE reported that the couple gathered with family and friends for a private wedding reception on Aug. 4 at Beaverbrook Hotel in Surrey, England, after marrying earlier in the year. The outlet’s source described a natural theme and said Holland’s brothers Sam, Harry and Paddy attended.
