Machine Gun Kelly answered a fabricated confession about losing Megan Fox with nine words after a screenshot attributed a lengthy breakup message to him.
MGK, 36, whose real name is Colson Baker, posted his reply Tuesday, Oct. 13. He answered directly beneath the image being circulated, using his @machinegunkelly account.
Fox, 40, and MGK began dating in 2020 after meeting while filming Midnight in the Switchgrass. They announced their engagement in January 2022 but separated in late 2024, before welcoming their daughter, Saga Blade, in March 2025.
The account sharing the screenshot described itself as satire, according to AllHipHop. Its post had accumulated more than 1.3 million views when the outlet reported on the exchange Oct. 14.

The post from @moidsexposed paired two lingerie photographs of Fox with an older picture of the former couple. Alongside them was an image reproducing MGK’s account name, @machinegunkelly handle and blue verification check. The caption called him a loser.
In the bogus message, the writer claimed to want to throw his phone against a wall and blamed himself for ruining the romance. One passage referred to “fumbling the girl of your dreams,” while the closing sentence claimed he would never forgive himself. A Community Note said the purported post did not exist on MGK’s verified account, Just Jared reported.

Fox returned to Instagram on March 3 after nearly a year away, sharing a photo shoot that drew a flirtatious response from her ex. “Stoked I have your phone number,” MGK wrote, as Us Weekly documented.
She posted another set of photographs on March 10, posing in a black outfit with sunglasses and thigh-high boots. Fox captioned the pictures, “Love was the most savage monster of all.” MGK replied, “Stoked we had a baby,” a comment PEOPLE recorded the following day. Saga was approaching her first birthday at the time.
A September Report Said Their Romance Was Over
An unnamed source told Us Weekly on Sept. 26 that MGK and Fox’s communication centered on their daughter and parenting arrangements. The source claimed he still cared about Fox but had stopped pursuing a reconciliation several months earlier. The magazine said it had contacted representatives for both stars for comment.
The magazine had also reported a disagreement over photographs of Saga. An unnamed source claimed the parents had agreed not to share images of her publicly and that Fox was upset when MGK did so.
The same report linked MGK to actress Dakota Johnson, citing a separate source who described them as dating. Us Weekly reported that the two had spent time together in New York earlier in September and that Johnson attended his Vogue World appearance in Italy on Sept. 22.
MGK Previously Called Fox a “Phenomenal Mom”
During an Aug. 7, 2025, appearance on Today with Jenna & Friends, MGK recalled someone praising him as a father simply because he was holding the baby. Fox, he said, was irritated by the compliment because she was doing the daily work. He joked that he kept being called “The Music Teacher.” “I just play the guitar and pray that the baby is happy,” he told the hosts, according to PEOPLE.
On the Sept. 18, 2025, episode of The Jennifer Hudson Show, MGK described Fox as a “phenomenal mom.” He praised her as “the greatest partner to have had a child with” in an interview covered by AllHipHop.
MGK also traced Saga’s name to his Norwegian roots. Explaining how he and Fox settled on it, he said that bringing their daughter into the world had been “an epic story of love, pain, and a lot of magic.”
In an Oct. 7 PEOPLE interview, Fox said she had been able to stay home with Saga instead of immediately returning to work, as she had after having her three sons with former husband Brian Austin Green. She described those earlier separations as painful and said they affected both her mental and physical health.
She also described feeling guilty when taking time for phone calls, a massage or career needs, even though she was with her daughter throughout the day.
