Madonna turned Confessions II into a film-event rollout before the project reaches YouTube.

The pop icon premiered a cinematic visual work tied to her forthcoming album at New York’s Beacon Theatre during the 2026 Tribeca Festival. The project, directed by David Toro and Solomon Chase of TORSO, turns the opening stretch of Confessions II into a continuous screen piece rather than a standard run of music videos.

The premiere added another high-profile stop to Madonna’s current album campaign. One day earlier, she performed in Times Square in partnership with Grindr to mark Pride Month and preview new music from the project.

Now the film is moving beyond the festival crowd. Confessions II: The Film is scheduled to arrive on YouTube on June 8 at 11 a.m. ET.

A Dance-Floor Album Becomes a Film Experience

Tribeca described Confessions II as a visual work running more than 10 minutes and built around the first six tracks from Madonna’s upcoming album. The songs include “I Feel So Free” and “Bring Your Love,” her collaboration with Sabrina Carpenter.

The festival’s description presents the film as one continuous, music-driven piece with six chapters. That format fits the project’s connection to Confessions on a Dance Floor, Madonna’s 2005 dance album that treated rhythm, sequencing, and club culture as part of one connected experience.

The new film follows Madonna through spaces tied to nightlife, performance, cameras, crowds, and the public gaze. Tribeca’s description places the project between privacy and publicity, control and surrender, and then brings everything back to the dancefloor.

The Premiere Brought Big Cameos and Julia Garner Attention

Digital Music News reported that the film features guest appearances by Arca, Archie Madekwe, Benedict Cumberbatch, Cole Palmer, Debi Mazar, Gwendoline Christie, Honey Dijon, João Pedro, Julia Garner, Kate Moss, Odessa A’zion, Richard E. Grant, Shygirl, and Madonna’s daughter Lourdes Leon.

Garner’s appearance carries a separate layer of interest. The Ozark and The Americans actress was previously linked to playing Madonna in a planned biopic, a project that has gone through development changes over the past several years.

Her cameo in Confessions II gives fans a different kind of Madonna-Garner connection. Instead of waiting for a full biographical film, audiences will see Garner inside a project built around Madonna’s current music era.

Sabrina Carpenter’s presence also connects the film to Madonna’s recent live campaign. Carpenter appears on “Bring Your Love,” one of the key tracks leading into the July album release.

The Rollout Continued With a Times Square Pride Performance

The Tribeca premiere followed Madonna’s June 4 surprise concert in Times Square. People reported that the performance was staged in partnership with Grindr and included songs from both Confessions on a Dance Floor and Confessions II.

The set included older tracks such as “Hung Up,” “Get Together,” and “I Love New York,” along with new songs including “I Feel So Free,” “Bring Your Love,” and “Love Sensation.” The performance also marked Pride Month with visuals honoring LGBTQIA+ figures including Marsha P. Johnson, Keith Haring, and Robert Mapplethorpe.

The timing gave Madonna a tight two-day New York sequence: a Pride Month pop-up in Times Square on June 4, followed by a Tribeca film premiere at the Beacon Theatre on June 5.

Confessions II Arrives in July

Confessions II is scheduled for release on July 3. People reported that the album reunites Madonna with Stuart Price, who worked on the original Confessions on a Dance Floor.

The new album arrives more than 20 years after the original Confessions era became one of Madonna’s defining dance-pop periods. The sequel is being introduced through live performance, a festival film premiere, a YouTube release, and a Grindr partnership rather than a simple single-and-video rollout.

For fans outside the Beacon Theatre, the next date is June 8 at 11 a.m. ET, when Confessions II: The Film arrives on YouTube.
