Matt Damon traded movie premieres for mouse ears as his family gathered at Disneyland to celebrate daughter Gia reaching a major milestone.
The 55-year-old actor visited the Anaheim theme park on Aug. 20 with wife Luciana and all four of their daughters: Alexia, 27, Isabella, 20, Gia, 18, and Stella, 15. The outing marked Gia’s 18th birthday and brought the famously private family together for a rare group appearance away from a Hollywood red carpet.
They made the occasion easy to spot. Gia wore a custom Disney-themed shirt identifying her as the “birthday girl,” while Damon and the rest of the family coordinated in matching “birthday crew” shirts, according to PEOPLE’s report from Disneyland.
Disneyland was already preparing for its fall festivities, allowing the family to pose in front of the giant Mickey Mouse pumpkin on Main Street, U.S.A., one day before Halloween Time officially began.
All Four of Damon’s Daughters Joined the Birthday Trip

Damon and Luciana were joined by Alexia, Isabella, Gia and Stella for the park day. Just Jared reported that Alexia’s boyfriend was also part of the group. Gia’s shirt featured Sleeping Beauty Castle with Mickey Mouse ears and “birthday girl” lettering, while the others wore coordinating “birthday crew” designs.
Damon and Luciana welcomed Isabella in 2006, Gia in 2008 and Stella in 2010. Alexia is Luciana’s daughter from a previous marriage and has been part of Damon’s family since he and Luciana began their relationship more than two decades ago.
Complete family appearances remain relatively uncommon. Damon has generally kept his daughters outside the spotlight, although all four have become more visible at premieres and other events as they have grown older. That included the July 2024 premiere of The Instigators, where Damon and Luciana posed with all four daughters, and more recent appearances connected to Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey.
Disneyland Was Already Ready for Halloween

The family posed beneath the oversized Mickey Mouse pumpkin that anchors Disneyland’s seasonal decorations on Main Street, U.S.A. Their visit came on Aug. 20, one day before the resort’s 2026 Halloween Time season officially began.
Disneyland says Halloween Time runs from Aug. 21 through Oct. 31 this year, with seasonal decorations, themed entertainment, limited-time food and Disney characters appearing in Halloween costumes.
The giant Mickey pumpkin is part of the Main Street Pumpkin Festival, which fills the area with hundreds of pumpkins and other seasonal displays.Disney California Adventure actually began displaying its Halloween décor slightly earlier, on Aug. 18, while Disneyland Park, Downtown Disney and the resort hotels officially begin their Halloween period on Aug. 21.
Damon Says His Daughters Are ‘Seasoned Travelers’
A Disneyland birthday was a special occasion, but traveling together is already routine for the Damon family. “We are seasoned travelers in our family, just because I work all over the world,” Damon told PEOPLE in June. “So my kids love to travel.”
At the time, he was preparing for an international promotional tour for The Odyssey, with stops planned in cities including Mumbai, Beijing and Seoul. Damon said he intended to bring his family along for much of the trip so his daughters could experience those places with him.
Their support became especially meaningful after the movie’s lengthy production. At the London premiere, Damon said his wife and daughters had also made sacrifices while he worked on the film because he spent significant time away from home during the demanding shoot. “It’s great because they had to sacrifice a lot too for this,” he told PEOPLE. “I went away for a while, they came and visited, but it was a lot.”
His Older Daughters Are Starting to Build Careers of Their Own
As Gia turns 18, her older sisters have already begun pursuing professional and creative interests of their own. Alexia works as a photographer and videographer and has begun building credits behind the camera. She worked in the camera department on the 2024 Apple TV film The Instigators, which starred Damon and his longtime friend Ben Affleck.
Isabella, meanwhile, recently signed with IMG Models. PEOPLE reported that the 20-year-old is based in New York and is also studying at New York University. The sisters have even collaborated creatively. In March, Alexia photographed Isabella for a fashion shoot that she later shared publicly.
