Milla Jovovich celebrated daughter Ever Anderson’s birthday with a close-up portrait and a message that went well beyond their family resemblance. The Resident Evil actress wrote about watching her oldest child become someone she trusts to find her own way.
Ever turned 19 on November 3. In the photograph, she looks directly into the camera, her light brown hair falling loose around her face and her blue-green eyes drawing comparisons to her mother’s.
Jovovich, 50, and her husband, filmmaker Paul W.S. Anderson, also share daughters Dashiel, 11, and Osian, 6. The couple married in 2009, two years after Ever was born.
Ever answered her mother’s lengthy tribute with a much shorter message in the comments: “Awwww i love you mommy.”

“Happy 19th bday to my little queen Ever!!!” Jovovich began in the Instagram message covered by Entertainment Weekly. Jovovich admired the way her daughter kept learning from experience, developing her interests and putting those lessons to use.
She also acknowledged a familiar parental worry: children eventually have to make decisions without their parents beside them. Seeing Ever become more capable and resourceful had eased that anxiety, she wrote.
The actress described their relationship from several perspectives. Ever had brought her a kind of love she hadn’t known before motherhood, shown loyalty as a friend and taught her lessons of her own.

Ever marked the occasion on her own Instagram account with a collection of baby pictures and family photographs. “I feel like i blinked and turned 19,” she wrote.
Jovovich had another portrait underway, too. In an Instagram Story, she showed an initial black-ink sketch for a handmade birthday card, with attention to Ever’s hair and eyelashes.
According to InStyle, the card was running late because Jovovich hadn’t expected her daughter to be home. Ever had considered three other places she might go, making the chance to celebrate together a welcome surprise.

Ever’s first screen role came in Resident Evil: The Final Chapter, where she played the Red Queen in the franchise starring her mother and directed by her father.
She went on to portray young Natasha Romanoff in Black Widow in 2021. Two years later, she played Wendy Darling in Disney’s live-action Peter Pan & Wendy, opposite Alexander Molony as Peter Pan and Jude Law as Captain Hook.
In September, she attended the Venice International Film Festival for the premiere of Father Joe. The festival’s official listing identifies Kiefer Sutherland and Al Pacino as her costars in the action thriller, directed by Barthélémy Grossmann from a screenplay by Luc Besson.
Ever plays Felicity, an unlikely ally of Sutherland’s crime-fighting priest. Speaking with Vogue, she said the character’s empathy and refusal to judge others had drawn her to the part.
The trip also involved an 18-hour press day and a midnight screening. After the premiere, Ever called her mother to tell her about it. Jovovich, she said, was delighted.
