Ciara skipped the Paris Fashion Week front row on Oct. 3 and went straight to the catwalk, making a surprise appearance in Junya Watanabe’s Spring 2027 ready-to-wear show while pregnant.
Ciara walked the runway three times, with Watanabe reshaping the look around the same fitted purple-and-pink base through different layers, accessories and silhouettes. PEOPLE reported that the audience cheered as she made her way through the show.
The Paris appearance came less than four weeks after Ciara and husband Russell Wilson revealed on Sept. 6 that another baby is on the way. Until Saturday’s show, most of the public images from the pregnancy had come through the couple’s own announcement and subsequent appearances.
Watanabe’s collection, titled Funky, repeatedly took recognizable clothes and objects apart and rebuilt them into stranger silhouettes. Ciara’s three walks fit directly into that idea, with the same bright foundation transformed by leather, outerwear and an elaborate construction of crystals.

Across the three walks, Ciara wore a purple base marked with hot-pink accents, while Watanabe changed the layers and accessories around it. The most elaborate version surrounded her with a silver headpiece and long strands of crystals that dropped around her body, with additional fringe hanging from the structure near her legs. A wide black belt sat low at her waist, and bright red pointed boots finished the look.
Another version paired the fitted set with a heavily deconstructed black leather biker jacket. Zippers, silver cords and beaded strands ran across the sliced-up jacket, while an embellished black cap added another layer of hardware above Ciara’s voluminous blonde hair.
The outerwear changed again for a camel-colored trench cloak, worn over the purple crop top and leggings with the black cap still in place. The cropped top left part of her stomach visible as she walked, a detail also documented by E! News. The bright red patent boots remained part of all three runway looks.
Footage shared by Vogue Runway captured the crystal-covered version moving down the catwalk, with the strands swinging around Ciara as she walked. Vogue’s runway review described the other two transformations as a deconstructed biker jacket and a trench cloak.
Junya Watanabe Built the Show Around Familiar Clothes Changing Shape
Ciara’s transformations were part of a collection that kept pushing ordinary garments away from their expected forms. Watanabe used catsuits as foundations for larger constructions, then worked recognizable pieces such as biker jackets, trench coats and tailored jackets into new shapes.
The collection also featured metallic structures extending from the body, clothing built with visible circuit boards and wiring, and oversized pearls worked across tweed and leather. The show’s pacing shifted with the soundtrack, moving from the energetic choreography of Chaka Khan’s “Like Sugar” to a slower, midcentury couture-inspired presentation set to Michael Jackson’s “I Just Can’t Stop Loving You.”
Ciara later responded to Vogue footage from the show with three heart-hand emojis. Wilson appeared in the comments as well, leaving three hearts and two raised-hands emojis.

Ciara and Wilson announced the pregnancy on Sept. 6 with a clothesline-themed Instagram post. White shirts printed with the names Future, Sienna, Win and Amora hung beside a small blank baby outfit, while photos and video showed Ciara’s baby bump.
“One more person to Love,” the couple wrote in the caption. The baby will be Ciara’s fifth child overall and her fourth with Wilson. They share daughters Sienna Princess, 9, and Amora Princess, 2, and son Win Harrison, 6. Ciara is also mom to 12-year-old Future Zahir, whom she shares with her former fiancé, rapper Future.
Wilson had a shorter name for the incoming addition. In the comments beneath the pregnancy announcement, he wrote, “Baby Cinco!”
