Princess Beatrice’s husband Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi shared a fresh affectionate message for her 38th birthday after months of speculation about their marriage.
Edoardo posted photographs of Beatrice on August 8 and called her his “phenomenal, beautiful wife,” adding, “You make our world.” He signed the message “Love E,W,S,A xxxx,” referring to himself and the couple’s three children.
A source close to the couple pushed back strongly in PEOPLE, calling the marriage-trouble speculation “complete nonsense.” The couple was also photographed together at a London birthday party around the same period.
Edoardo has also spoken repeatedly about the importance of family in a recent Gentleman’s Journal interview, naming family time as part of his ideal holiday, his biggest luxury and his preferred way to relax.

The August 8 post was not simply a recirculated message from Beatrice’s previous birthday. “Happy Birthday to my phenomenal, beautiful wife,” Edoardo wrote in the new Instagram caption.
He also told Beatrice, “You make our world,” before signing off with the initials E, W, S and A. The initials refer to Edoardo, his son Christopher “Wolfie” Woolf and the two daughters he shares with Beatrice, Sienna and Athena.
The post followed a period of continued public discussion about their marriage. In March, The Mail on Sunday reported that a “distance” had developed between them as Edoardo focused on work and travel

On August 8, 2025, when Beatrice turned 37, he posted a photograph of her from Royal Ascot and wrote, “Happy Birthday to my BEAUTIFUL wife. You are the greatest. We love you so much. E,W,S,A xxxx.” PEOPLE reported at the time that it was the first birthday sign-off for Beatrice to include all three children after Athena’s birth earlier that year.

A year earlier, Edoardo had publicly celebrated their fifth wedding anniversary on July 17, 2025. “Happy 5th Anniversary to my incredible partner, the most beautiful and amazing wife,” he wrote alongside a photograph taken in Scotland.
He added that he cherished their time together, was grateful for their journey and looked forward to “countless more years filled with laughter and tons of love,” according to PEOPLE.
Edoardo did not post a comparable public anniversary message on July 17, 2026. Days later, however, he and Beatrice appeared smiling together in a group selfie taken during a trip to Greece. The photograph was posted by art curator Aliki Lampropoulos and showed the couple together following their sixth anniversary.
Edoardo Has Repeatedly Mentioned Family in a New Interview
Edoardo did not directly address the marriage speculation in a recent Gentleman’s Journal Q&A, but family appeared in several of his answers. Asked about his perfect holiday, he replied, “Getting off the beaten track, disconnecting from emails and news, and spending time with my family.”
He named “experiences, travel and time with family” as his biggest luxury and answered “time with family and friends” when asked how he likes to relax. The interview was published amid the ongoing reports about Beatrice and Edoardo. PEOPLE noted that his repeated references to family came several months after the first major reports questioning the marriage.
Beatrice and Edoardo married on July 17, 2020, at the Royal Chapel of All Saints in Windsor. They share daughters Sienna and Athena, while Beatrice is stepmother to Edoardo’s son Wolfie.
