Rob Kardashian joined his sisters and mother for Kim Kardashian’s birthday dinner in Beverly Hills, making a rare appearance in photographs taken outside the restaurant.

The 39-year-old former reality star wore black and smiled as he left the celebration. The outing took place October 20, the night before Kim turned 46.

Rob was a regular presence when Keeping Up With the Kardashians premiered in 2007. He later starred in Rob & Chyna in 2016, but has spent much of the past decade limiting how much of his personal life appears on television.

An unnamed source told People on October 22 that he has been focusing on his health. The source said his sisters respect his wish for a “quieter life” and do not pressure him to take on the same public commitments.

The family gathered at Baldi inside the Waldorf Astoria Beverly Hills. Kris Jenner, Khloé Kardashian, Kourtney Kardashian and Kylie Jenner were among those photographed, according to Us Weekly. DeuxMoi shared the images on Instagram.

Kim arrived in a green chainmail minidress with a jeweled headpiece before changing into a red version for her departure. Both outfits came from Paco Rabanne’s fall 1995 haute couture collection.

Harper’s Bazaar reported that Rabanne creative director Olivier Rousteing helped select the archival pieces. The dresses featured plunging necklines and crystal embellishments, with a cross-shaped pendant completing the red ensemble. Kim paired the looks with black Paris Texas heels.

Rob Explained Why He Had Stepped Back From Filming

During a phone call on the July 17, 2025, episode of Khloé in Wonder Land, Khloé asked whether his reduced filming had anything to do with a falling-out between the siblings.

Rob said their relationships were fine and that the decision concerned his own feelings about appearing on camera. “I’m not comfortable in my skin,” he told her, explaining that he did not want to expose himself to an audience while feeling vulnerable.

He described himself as a homebody who preferred peace and happiness to filming for people outside his personal life.

He Later Told a Producer He Wanted to Film Season 8

Rob briefly appeared at a family gathering during the October 2025 premiere of The Kardashians‘ seventh season. Kim said she missed her brother’s humor on the series and hoped he would appear regularly.

In the December 25 finale, Khloé called Rob to tell him viewers had been excited to spot him in the trailer. An off-camera producer then asked whether he would return for the following season.

“I definitely want to film on season 8,” he answered by phone, as Us Weekly reported in its recap.

By October 22, Us Weekly reported that the eighth season had begun streaming on Hulu, with Rob yet to make an on-screen cameo.

Fatherhood Brought Carpools and Family Dinners With Khloé

Rob shares his daughter Dream, born in November 2016, with his former partner Blac Chyna, also known as Angela White. Khloé has two children, True and Tatum.

On the podcast, the siblings explained that they lived in the same community and their children spent time together every day. Rob described sharing carpools and dinners with Khloé. He said becoming a father had made him more grounded and shifted his attention toward his daughter’s needs and feelings.

Chyna discussed their parenting arrangements in a separate June 2026 interview with People at the Hollywood Unlocked Impact Awards. She credited communication with helping her raise her children with Rob and with Tyga, the father of her son King Cairo.

She said each parent needed to concentrate on their own responsibilities rather than monitor the other household. “You mind yours, I’ll mind mine. We’re about the babies,” she said.
