Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce are married after a major New York wedding celebration that turned Madison Square Garden into the center of the celebrity world for one night.

The singer and the Kansas City Chiefs star tied the knot on Friday, July 3, at Madison Square Garden, Swift’s representative confirmed to PEOPLE. After the wedding news was confirmed, the jumbotron outside Madison Square Garden lit up with “JUST&T MARRIED!”.

The couple, both 36, celebrated with about 1,000 guests after days of heavy setup, security planning and speculation around the Manhattan venue.

The wedding brought together Swift’s music world, Kelce’s NFL circle and a long list of Hollywood names, turning the private ceremony into one of the most-watched celebrity events of the year.

The Wedding Took Over Madison Square Garden

Madison Square Garden had been under close watch for days before the wedding. Trucks, decorations, food deliveries and security equipment were seen moving in as reports grew that Swift and Kelce had chosen the arena for their celebration.

CBS News reported that large black SUVs began arriving shortly after 3 p.m. ET on Friday, pulling into white tents set up outside the venue. Law enforcement sources told the outlet that plans included a cocktail hour, ceremony and reception, with the celebration expected to continue into the early hours of Saturday.

The security footprint was also large. CBS News reported that private security and the NYPD were in place around MSG, with 135 officers assigned near the venue Friday. Streets directly around the arena were closed, and police barricades kept fans and pedestrians from camping out on nearby sidewalks.

The public still got one major visual from the night. After the wedding news was confirmed, the jumbotron outside Madison Square Garden lit up with “JUST&T MARRIED!” while fans gathered nearby with signs and friendship bracelets.

Swift and Kelce both wore Christian Dior Haute Couture for the ceremony. PEOPLE reported that the wedding looks were designed by Jonathan Anderson, creative director of Dior Women’s, Men’s and Haute Couture Collections, in close collaboration with the bride and groom.

Vogue reported that Swift’s gown marked her first custom Dior look for a major public moment. The dress was made in Dior’s Paris ateliers, and Swift completed the look with Cartier jewelry and custom Christian Louboutin shoes.

Kelce coordinated with Swift in a custom Dior suit and custom Louboutins. Vogue noted that the choice followed months of speculation over whether Swift would choose Vivienne Westwood, Stella McCartney, Oscar de la Renta or another designer already tied to her public style.

Dior confirmed to PEOPLE that the looks were created at 30 Avenue Montaigne in Paris and designed by Anderson with the couple.

The Guest List Mixed Pop, Film and Football

The wedding guest list was as closely watched as the ceremony itself. Reuters reported that Jennifer Lopez, Ed Sheeran, Jimmy Fallon, Abby Wambach, Hugh Grant, Jason Sudeikis and Ethan Hawke were seen entering Madison Square Garden.

PEOPLE reported that other guests spotted around the celebration included Gigi Hadid and Bradley Cooper, Dakota Johnson, Mariska Hargitay and Peter Hermann, Cherry Seaborn, the Haim sisters, Ellie Goulding, Benson Boone, Maren Morris, Kelsea Ballerini, Miranda Lambert, The Chicks, Brad Paisley and Kimberly Williams-Paisley, Karlie Kloss and Joshua Kushner, Zoë Kravitz and Tommy Hilfiger.

CBS News also reported arrivals including sports broadcaster Joe Buck, NFL star Cooper Kupp and Paulina Gretzky, daughter of Wayne Gretzky.

The night before the wedding, Swift and Kelce held a rehearsal dinner at MSG’s Infosys Theatre. PEOPLE reported that Lena Dunham, Jack Antonoff, Abigail Anderson, Erin Andrews, Charissa Thompson, Greg Olsen and Aric Jones were among the guests seen arriving for that smaller gathering.

The Wedding Followed a Two-Year Public Romance

Swift and Kelce’s relationship began after he attended her Eras Tour stop at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City in July 2023 and later said on New Heights that he had tried to give her a friendship bracelet with his phone number on it.

PEOPLE reported that the couple announced their engagement in August 2025 with a joint Instagram post showing Kelce proposing in a garden setting. Swift captioned the post, “Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married.”

Reuters reported that the couple also donated $26 million to several charities in the days leading up to the wedding, including Feeding America, the ASPCA and Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library.

The Empire State Building marked the wedding by lighting up in “something blue” on Friday evening, according to Reuters.
