Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s reported wedding week has turned Madison Square Garden into the center of celebrity-watch speculation.
The latest round of attention came after the Daily Mail published photos it described as evidence that the couple’s long-rumored wedding celebration is moving ahead at the New York City arena.
The outlet pointed to security activity outside the venue as preparations around MSG continued.
Swift and Kelce have not publicly announced a wedding date or venue. But permits, deliveries, carpet changes and visible arena work have kept attention on Madison Square Garden ahead of July 3.

The Daily Mail reported that members of Swift’s security team were photographed outside Madison Square Garden on Tuesday while work continued around the venue.
The photos followed days of reports connecting the arena to Swift and Kelce’s reported wedding celebration. CBS News New York reported that City Hall confirmed a permit application had been filed to close streets around Madison Square Garden from July 2 to July 4.
Reuters, citing reporting from The New York Times, reported that the permit filing pointed to a July 3 event and that sources said Swift had rented Madison Square Garden.
Garden Party Boxes and a Mirror Ball Were Seen at the Venue
People reported that workers were seen loading equipment, grass and decorations into Madison Square Garden on June 29. The outlet reported that some boxes were labeled “Garden Party,” while another box was labeled “Mirror Ball.”
People also reported that about 40 MSG employees were working to prepare the space and that staffers were seen moving boxes late into the night.
The “Mirror Ball” label drew attention because Swift has a song called “mirrorball” on folklore. Page Six also reported that staging equipment, lighting, chairs and large trunks were unloaded from unmarked trucks outside the venue.
The Red Carpet Was Reportedly Swapped for Purple
TMZ reported that workers pulled up a red carpet outside Madison Square Garden because the carpet was supposed to be purple.
TMZ reported that a photographer was told the carpet color was wrong, leading workers to remove the red version. The outlet connected the purple choice to Swift’s visual world, including Speak Now and “Lavender Haze.”
Madison Square Garden Was Also Being Covered With Drapes
TMZ later reported that Madison Square Garden was being covered with fabric as crews worked inside the arena.
Sources connected to the setup told the outlet that workers had been hanging fabric from the ceiling and wrapping parts of the arena floor. TMZ reported that the makeover was extensive enough that guests would be able to forget they were inside the famous arena.
Madison Square Garden’s lack of windows and private access points have also been mentioned in coverage of why the arena could work for a high-profile private event.
