A viral Taylor Swift pregnancy claim is drawing backlash after a new round of speculation about her possible wedding plans with Travis Kelce.

The claim came from a video shared on X that zoomed in on Swift during a recent performance and suggested she was hiding a “secret.” The News International described the video as misleading and reported that it had gained more than 3 million views.

Swift has not announced a pregnancy, and the clip did not show a pregnancy announcement. The outlet reported that the footage appeared to show Swift wearing a fitted dress while dancing and moving onstage.

The permit report has not been matched by any public confirmation from Swift or Kelce about a wedding date, venue, or ceremony.

According to The News International, fans responded to the X post by accusing the account behind it of making a false claim and body-shaming Swift. The post revived online pregnancy speculation about Swift and Kelce, but the claim was based on interpretation of performance footage rather than a statement from Swift, Kelce, or their representatives.

The outlet said the video focused on Swift’s midsection during a stage moment. That is the piece of the story that drew the backlash: fans objected to turning a zoomed-in clip of a performer’s body into a pregnancy rumor.

The pregnancy claim also followed earlier online rumors involving fake or misleading material. The Times of India reported earlier in June that a parody account shared an ultrasound-style image made to resemble a Swift Instagram Story, prompting some users to question whether the post was fake.

The Rumor Spread After a Madison Square Garden Permit Report

The pregnancy claim circulated after new reporting about a possible Swift-Kelce wedding event in New York City. Reuters reported that a New York City Hall spokesperson confirmed a permit had been filed to close streets around Madison Square Garden from July 2 to midday July 4 for an event on July 3.

ABC News reported that Winick Productions filed a permit request to close West 31st Street near Madison Square Garden, calling it a concrete sign of planning for a possible Swift-Kelce wedding event. The outlet still framed the story as speculation because the couple has not publicly confirmed the location.

CBS News also reported that City Hall confirmed the permit application. The outlet noted that San Francisco 49ers tight end George Kittle said he and his wife had been invited to the wedding, but he did not know the details and said Kelce laughed when asked whether it was at Madison Square Garden.

There is no credible public pregnancy announcement from Swift, Kelce, or their representatives.
