Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s Madison Square Garden wedding was packed with celebrity guests, major performers and a venue built for spectacle, but the couple’s vows are getting the most attention now.

Entertainment Weekly reported that Swift and Kelce read personally written vows from gold books during their July 3 wedding in New York City.

Guests told NBC News that Swift sang parts of hers, while Kelce appeared more emotional during the exchange.

The Vows Were Long, Personal and Emotional

The vow exchange reportedly lasted about 20 minutes each. Entertainment Weekly reported that two guests said the couple wrote the vows themselves, rather than relying on short standard lines.

The same account said Swift sang parts of her vows, giving the ceremony a direct connection to the part of her life fans know best.

Page Six reported that guests described both Swift and Kelce as tearful, but said Kelce cried more. The outlet also cited reports that Kelce was nervous at the altar but kept himself composed while reading his vows.

Another reported detail said Swift became emotional when Kelce promised to protect her forever.
