Tom Holland has given his clearest answer yet to months of speculation about whether he and Zendaya quietly got married.

The Spider-Man actor addressed the rumors in a new Esquire interview while discussing fake AI-generated wedding photos that spread online earlier this year, according to People.

Holland said his grandmother saw the images and worried she had not been invited. When Esquire asked whether he had to reassure other family members that the photos were fake, Holland replied, “No, because they were all there.”

When asked to say more about the private wedding day, Holland shut the door. “That’s all you’ll get on that,” he said.

Holland did not give a date, location, guest list or any other details about the ceremony. People reported that the answer came during a wider conversation about the couple’s relationship and the strange way AI-generated images had pulled their private life into a public rumor cycle.

That privacy boundary has been part of Holland and Zendaya’s relationship for years. They have occasionally spoken warmly about each other, but they have rarely treated relationship milestones as public property.

The Rumors Had Been Building for Months

Marriage speculation around Holland and Zendaya had already been growing before the interview. Zendaya sparked engagement talk at the 2025 Golden Globes when she appeared with a diamond ring, and People later reported that Holland had proposed during the 2024 holiday season.

The wedding chatter intensified in March 2026, when Zendaya’s longtime stylist Law Roach told Access Hollywood that “the wedding has already happened.” People reported at the time that Roach added, “You missed it,” when asked about the couple.

Zendaya later joked about the viral AI wedding photos during a March appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live!. ABC’s episode description said the segment covered AI wedding photos of Zendaya and Holland being spread online, along with a joke about “never-before-seen wedding footage.”

Holland Also Praised Zendaya as His “Person”

Holland shared more about the relationship itself than about the wedding.

He told Esquire that he and Zendaya understand each other in a way that comes from living inside the same high-pressure industry. “For me, I found my person,” he said, according to People. “She’s my best friend.”

Holland also said he is the happiest he has ever been when he is with Zendaya and has “never felt so supported and safe.”

He praised her acting as well, calling her “the best actor going” and pointing to her work in Euphoria and The Drama.

The Moment Comes During a Busy Career Stretch

The apparent confirmation arrived as Holland and Zendaya returned to the spotlight together for the Spider-Man: Brand New Day press cycle.

People reported that the two appeared at a Madrid photocall on June 15, marking their first red-carpet appearance together since the Spider-Man: No Way Home premiere in December 2021.

Marvel lists Spider-Man: Brand New Day, directed by Destin Daniel Cretton and starring Holland, for theatrical release on July 31. Holland and Zendaya are also part of Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey, another July release.

Holland’s short answer gave fans the closest thing yet to a confirmation while keeping the ceremony itself private.
