San Francisco 49ers star Trent Williams is being sued by an auto dealer that claims he stopped making payments on a leased Porsche shortly after receiving the vehicle.
OpenRoad Auto Group alleges that Williams owes $244,199.28 in past-due lease payments connected to a 2018 Porsche 911, along with additional charges, fees and costs.
The Washington-based dealer claims Williams agreed to make 48 monthly payments but made only two, totaling $10,617.26, in August and September 2021. The lease was scheduled to expire on August 31, 2025.
Williams had not publicly responded to the allegations when TMZ reported the lawsuit on August 9.

According to the complaint as described by TMZ, Williams authorized OpenRoad to withdraw the monthly lease payments directly from his bank account. The company alleges that he closed the account shortly after signing the authorization.
OpenRoad claims the August and September 2021 payments totaled $10,617.26 and that it received no additional lease payments afterward. TMZ reported that OpenRoad’s claims against Williams include breach of contract, fraud and other causes of action.
OpenRoad also claims it does not currently know where the Porsche is located. According to TMZ’s description of the lawsuit, the dealer alleges that Williams may have sold the vehicle to another automotive company, which may then have sold it to someone else.
Williams Signed a $50 Million 49ers Extension in April
The lawsuit surfaced less than four months after Williams reached another major contract agreement with San Francisco. An NFL report confirmed that Williams and the 49ers agreed in April to a two-year, $50 million extension. The deal includes $37 million in guaranteed money and a $22 million signing bonus.
Williams Says He Plans to Play Through His New Deal
Williams remains one of the key veterans on the 49ers’ roster as he enters the later stages of his NFL career. In June, the 49ers reported that Williams expects to play through both years of his new agreement. He also acknowledged that the contract will “probably” be the last one he signs in the NFL.
Williams said he remains committed to the upcoming seasons despite thinking more seriously about retirement. “I’ve always been fully committed to these next few years,” he said. “I always knew that I had a couple more years left in me.”
