Amber Heard completed her first half-marathon in Spain with a finishing time of 1 hour, 39 minutes and 54 seconds, according to the organizer’s official results.
The 40-year-old Aquaman actress announced the milestone on October 5th, sharing three photographs from the race on Instagram.
“First half marathon, eskerrik asko Donosti!” Heard wrote. The Basque phrase means “thank you,” while Donosti is a familiar name for the coastal city of San Sebastián.
In the first photograph, Heard smiled with her eyes closed and her hands behind her head. She wore a lilac running set, with her race bib still attached.
Heard Joined Thousands of Runners in San Sebastián

The Medio Maratón Donostia San Sebastián Rural Kutxa took place on October 4th. Its roughly 21.1-kilometer course covered the standard half-marathon distance of 13.1 miles.
The organizer’s race report recorded 5,200 registrations for the event’s fifth edition and said light rain and wet pavement accompanied runners for much of the course.
Heard’s other photographs showed her among competitors on the rain-soaked streets and wearing a finisher medal beside the race barriers.
Her First 10K Came in Madrid in June

Heard completed her first 10K at Madrid’s KLM Norte Sur race on June 21st, just over three months before the San Sebastián event. She marked that earlier finish with a smiling photograph captioned “First race glow.”
Her daughter Oonagh also joined the celebrations. People reported that Heard shared additional pictures in her Instagram Stories showing the two together after the race.
In a 2018 interview with Shape, covered at the time by WHO, she described running as “a way for me to alleviate stress, clear my mind, and refocus.”
Heard Is Raising Three Children in Spain
Heard relocated to Spain with Oonagh Paige after the highly publicized 2022 defamation trial involving her former husband Johnny Depp.
On Mother’s Day in May 2025, she announced the arrival of twins Agnes and Ocean. The Associated Press reported that Heard introduced her daughter and son in a post featuring a photograph of their feet.
In that announcement, Heard described becoming a mother by herself and on her own terms as one of the most humbling experiences of her life.
Heard Made Her Stage Debut in 2025
Heard made her professional stage debut in 2025 as Genevieve in Spirit of the People, a new play by Jeremy O. Harris. The appearance followed her 2023 films In the Fire and Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom.
The Williamstown Theatre Festival presented the world premiere in Massachusetts. Directed by Katina Medina Mora, the production ran from July 17th through August 3rd, 2025.
