Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s wedding already had the scale of a concert, but one reported performance gave the night a very specific early-2000s pop-punk twist.
Entertainment Weekly reported that Avril Lavigne performed “Sk8er Boi” during the couple’s July 3 wedding celebration at Madison Square Garden.
Us Weekly reported that the detail came from Pat McAfee, who has been sharing behind-the-scenes moments from the star-filled event.
Pat McAfee Shared the Avril Detail
McAfee said on The Pat McAfee Show that Lavigne was among the musicians who performed during the wedding festivities. He later clarified that his mention of “Sk8er Boi” appeared to be the first time that specific song choice had become public.
“Sk8er Boi” is one of Lavigne’s defining hits.
The Wedding Reportedly Had a Free-Flowing Music Setup

According to Entertainment Weekly, McAfee described the night as one where musicians were called up and performed naturally rather than following a stiff, traditional reception format.
McAfee said Paul McCartney played a Beatles classic, while Stevie Nicks was also among the performers discussed by guests and outlets covering the wedding.
Entertainment Weekly named guests such as Ed Sheeran, Ellie Goulding, Ashanti, Camila Cabello, Benson Boone, the HAIM sisters and members of The Chicks among the music-world names connected to the event.
