Barbara Palvin celebrated her first birthday as a mom with new photos of daughter Sylvie and a playful nod to Middle-earth.
The model turned 33 on Oct. 8 and shared the Instagram carousel the following day, according to PEOPLE.
“becoming an adult in middle-earth 🥔,” she captioned the post. In J.R.R. Tolkien’s The Fellowship of the Ring, hobbits come of age at 33.
Palvin shares Sylvie with husband Dylan Sprouse. The couple began dating in 2018 and married in her native Hungary in July 2023.

The pictures show Palvin surrounded by greenery while holding Sylvie close to her chest. In one photo, she looks down at her daughter as the baby rests against her.
Her Instagram Stories also included birthday messages from friends. Sprouse shared a photo from a park gathering, while a friend posted a video of Palvin blowing out the candles on a cake with loved ones around her.
The Couple Announced Sylvie’s Arrival in Matching Dodgers Jerseys

Palvin and Sprouse announced their daughter’s arrival on Sept. 28 with a joint Instagram photo taken from behind as they watched a Los Angeles Dodgers game on television. All three wore team jerseys, including a miniature version for Sylvie.
“We took Labor Day literally this year,” they wrote. The caption suggested a holiday arrival, although the announcement did not specify a birth date or reveal their daughter’s name.
Sprouse Introduced Sylvie on His Podcast the Next Day
During the Sept. 29 episode of Wildmen, which he cohosts with Brendan Columbus, Sprouse introduced Sylvie by name and described her as “very lovely” and “a very well-behaved baby.” He said he and Palvin felt fortunate to have had a safe, healthy delivery, according to Us Weekly.
Sprouse said she weighed 7.8 pounds at birth and recalled a doctor commenting that she was long. He also joked that she did not particularly resemble him.
He described being captivated by the brief periods when Sylvie was awake, looking at him and opening her eyes. “This is the coolest thing ever,” he remembered thinking, in remarks reported by PEOPLE.
Choosing her outfits had also become an unexpected pleasure. Sprouse said he had not anticipated enjoying dressing his daughter so much and enthused about a bonnet he had bought for her. He was also enjoying watching her learn the rhythms of feeding and nap time.
They Revealed the Pregnancy at Cannes
The couple announced the pregnancy on May 14 during the Cannes Film Festival, where Palvin posed in a pale blue gown that showed her baby bump. Their joint Instagram carousel also included a sonogram showing what looked like a “rock on” hand gesture, followed by a photo of the parents making the same sign, as Vogue reported.
Before the birth, Sprouse spoke about his nerves on Not Skinny But Not Fat. In excerpts published by Dear Media on Aug. 5, he said he believed his daughter would be the first girl born into the Sprouse family in a long time. Having grown up in a small family of boys, he felt that his father could offer little firsthand guidance about raising a daughter.
Sprouse also acknowledged the limits of preparing through books and other parents’ stories. He expected the workload of caring for a first child to be something he would understand fully only once he was doing it.
