A South Korean court has sentenced a woman who stalked BTS member Jungkook after repeatedly showing up at his home.

The Brazilian woman, whose identity has not been publicly disclosed, received a one-year prison sentence suspended for two years, according to Anadolu.

The Korea Times reported that Judge Park Ji-won of the Seoul Western District Court sentenced the woman on May 8 for violating South Korea’s anti-stalking law and trespassing.

The case centered on repeated visits to the singer’s residence, including one incident in which the court heard she rang his doorbell 133 times.

The Court Said She Visited Jungkook’s Home 22 Times

The court said the woman visited Jungkook’s residence and the surrounding area in Seoul’s Yongsan District 22 times between Dec. 7 and Dec. 28, according to The Korea Times. She allegedly rang the doorbell, waited nearby and left items at the residence.

Anadolu reported that the woman first appeared at Jungkook’s home on Dec. 7, loitered outside the property, threw items over the wall and left letters and photographs. Days later, she returned and rang the doorbell 133 times, which the court described as showing an “extreme level of obsession.”

Police Had Already Warned Her to Stay Away

The Korea Times reported that on Dec. 13, the woman entered the residential property through a side gate that had been left open while a food delivery worker was coming and going.

Authorities arrested her that day and released her the following day with a warning not to approach the residence again, according to Anadolu. Police later issued an emergency order barring her from coming within 100 meters of Jungkook or his home.

The Korea Times reported that she allegedly returned on Jan. 4 and left photographs and printed materials near the residence despite that order.

The Judge Cited Several Factors in the Suspended Sentence

The Korea Times reported that the court said the woman kept committing stalking offenses even after being warned and released following a police investigation. The court also said she failed to comply with emergency protective measures and that Jungkook was seeking strict punishment.

The sentence was still suspended. The court cited several mitigating factors, including that the woman appeared to be trying to convey her feelings rather than harm Jungkook, did not enter the indoor living space, had already been detained for about three months, and was unlikely to reoffend because she is expected to face deportation after the ruling becomes final.

Anadolu reported that the woman told the court her actions were motivated by love for the singer. The court still found that her conduct met the stalking and trespassing charges.

The Case Followed Another Jungkook Home-Intrusion Attempt

The sentencing adds to privacy and safety concerns around Jungkook’s residence. The Korea Times reported that a Chinese woman in her 30s was arrested last June after allegedly trying to enter his home by repeatedly entering a door code around the date of his military discharge.

BIGHIT MUSIC had already warned fans not to visit military discharge sites when RM, Jimin, V and Jungkook were preparing to complete service. In a Weverse notice, the agency said no special events were planned and asked fans not to visit in person because each location had limited space and overcrowding could create safety risks.

Jungkook completed his military service in June 2025 along with fellow BTS member Jimin.
