Busy Philipps was photographed holding hands with comedian Jason Selvig during an outing in New York City.
The Dawson’s Creek and Girls5Eva actress, 47, was seen with Selvig on Wednesday, Aug. 26. Just Jared published Backgrid photographs from the outing and raised the possibility that they were dating.
A day later, PEOPLE included another photograph from the outing in its celebrity sightings roundup and referred to Selvig as Philipps’ “partner.”
Philipps and Selvig have not publicly announced a relationship themselves.

Us Weekly sought comment from representatives for both Philipps and Selvig after the photographs surfaced.
Who Is Jason Selvig?
Selvig is a New York-based comedian, writer and performer best known as one half of The Good Liars with Davram Stiefler.
The duo has been doing political comedy together since 2011. Selvig told Vice that he and Stiefler dressed as investment bankers during Occupy Wall Street and staged a counterprotest in support of Wall Street. The joke took an unexpected turn when real bankers mistook it for the real thing and joined them.
What began as a one-off stunt became The Good Liars. Selvig and Stiefler have been taking their act into political crowds ever since. They were in Washington interviewing people at the “Stop the Steal” rally on Jan. 6, 2021, before the attack on the U.S. Capitol.
In one clip highlighted by Just Jared, Selvig talks with a man who cites the Bible while opposing same-sex marriage. Selvig asks whether he also follows a biblical prohibition against wearing clothing made from mixed fibers.

Philipps received the Michael Friedman Freedom Award at an NYCLU and ACLU benefit at NYU Skirball on Oct. 28, 2024. The NYCLU’s event archive lists Selvig and Davram Stiefler among the performers as The Good Liars.

Philipps made her red carpet couple debut with Days of Our Lives actor Blake Berris at the 2025 Daytime Emmy Awards in Pasadena on Oct. 17. PEOPLE reported that a representative for Philipps confirmed she and Berris were dating.
Just Jared now says Philipps and Berris have split, although it was unclear when the relationship ended.
