Alex Cooper and Matt Kaplan have welcomed their first child. The “Call Her Daddy” host announced the arrival on Instagram on Tuesday, October 20, according to PEOPLE.
The announcement from Cooper, 32, and Kaplan, 42, offered followers their first glimpse of the newborn, pictured in a photograph on her account.
Neither parent has announced the baby’s name or exact birth date.
The couple are also business partners. They founded Unwell in 2023 and serve as co-CEOs of the media company, which produces podcasts and other entertainment.

The newborn wore a fuzzy sweater and matching pants while resting on a blanket. The photograph showed the baby’s tiny hands, with their face outside the frame.
Cooper’s caption contained only a blue heart emoji.
On October 15, she had shared maternity portraits. The black-and-white photographs included a nude side profile and images emphasizing the silhouette of her belly.
“The most transformative 9 months of my life,” she wrote, according to PEOPLE.

Cooper revealed her pregnancy on May 17 with two photographs alongside Kaplan. She wore a white crop top and pants, resting a hand on her belly as she sat beside her husband. The caption read, “Our family,” followed by a white heart.
In her June 10 podcast episode, “My Pregnancy Story,” Cooper explained that they had paused plans to start a family in summer 2024. She wanted more time for their relationship, her work and herself before becoming a parent.
When she eventually told Kaplan she was pregnant, she handed him a positive pregnancy test as a “gift” and joked that he couldn’t return it. They cried, hugged and kissed as they absorbed the news, Page Six reported.
“I have never felt more ready,” Cooper said while discussing the decision to have a child.
Cooper also received advice from her audience as she prepared for motherhood. After buying items from other expectant parents’ baby registries, she announced a partnership with Babylist on August 18 to continue those gifts.
She described the registry purchases as a way to thank followers for their support. The partnership also included plans for conversations about pregnancy, recovery after birth and the first year of parenting.
Gestational Diabetes Put Her Fear of Needles to the Test
On July 30, Cooper disclosed that doctors had diagnosed her with gestational diabetes. She told followers that the news had nearly brought her to tears.
Her August 11 Instagram Stories showed a lancing device used for blood sugar testing. “My fingers hurt from the amount of times I keep having to draw blood for this preg diabetes,” she wrote, as PEOPLE reported the following day.
Needles had frightened her since childhood. Cooper recalled trying to get her ears pierced at the mall and fainting whenever someone approached with a needle. She also filmed herself checking her blood sugar.
A Business Meeting Led to Their Wedding in Mexico
Cooper and Kaplan met during a business Zoom call in July 2020, arranged by her agent. The television project they discussed did not proceed, but the two began dating afterward.
Listeners initially knew Kaplan as “Mr. Sexy Zoom Man,” the nickname Cooper used while keeping his identity private. A film producer, he founded ACE Entertainment and worked on the “To All the Boys” franchise.
In a 2023 interview with W Magazine, Cooper said they had discussed having children while she was still unsure about marriage. Their communication and his support for her career helped change her outlook.
Kaplan proposed in 2023, and they married on April 6, 2024, in Riviera Maya, Mexico. Cooper told Vogue that he handled much of the planning, drawing on the organizational skills he uses as a producer.
Her brother Grant officiated. When he asked for the rings, the couple’s dogs, Henry and Bruce, ran through the doors and down the aisle, each carrying one on a collar.
