Céline Dion gave fans a thumbs-up and continued singing after falling onstage during her Paris residency.

The 58-year-old was performing “Dans un autre monde” on Oct. 7 at Plenitude Arena in Nanterre, outside Paris, when she lost her balance.

It was the 11th concert of her current run, which brings together songs from her French- and English-language catalogs.

Concertgoer Gary Francq, who filmed the incident, told Storyful that he was initially surprised and worried, according to TMZ. He said the fall did not appear to affect the remainder of the show.

Video Shows Dion Lose Her Footing

Fan footage shows Dion moving across the stage and hopping on one foot before slipping backward. Her pants appear to catch beneath her heel, according to Entertainment Weekly.

Dion landed on her bottom and extended one arm to brace herself, keeping the microphone in her other hand. She got back to her feet without waiting for assistance.

The song appears on her 1998 album S’il suffisait d’aimer and was written by longtime collaborator Jean-Jacques Goldman.

The Audience Sang Along When Dion Lost Her Place

Near the end of the concert, Dion briefly lost her place during the closing number, “Pour que tu m’aimes encore.” Fans were already singing along when she faltered, and the crowd continued while she paused.

“J’en oublie mes mots. Heureusement que vous êtes là, je suis désolée,” she said, according to Journal des Femmes. In English: “I’m forgetting my words. Thankfully you’re here, I’m sorry.”

Dion briefly covered her face before returning to the performance. RTL reported that she also told fans how deeply their participation had moved her and encouraged them to believe in themselves and hold on to their dreams.

The Paris Production Moves Through Four Acts

Dion opened the engagement on Sept. 12 before a sold-out crowd of 35,000, according to her official website. It was her first full concert since 2020.

Creative director Willo Perron and Perron Studios designed a four-act production around large structures that open, close and transform during the performance. Video imagery by Thibaut Grevet plays across LED screens beside the stage, while musical director Scott Price leads Dion’s band.

The opening-night set began with “On ne change pas” and included “Because You Loved Me,” “Courage,” “It’s All Coming Back to Me Now” and her 2026 release “Dansons.” She also performed an operatic selection from La Wally.

“I made a promise to come back and to be back on stage,” Dion told the opening-night audience.

Dion Has More Paris Concerts Scheduled Through May 2027

Dion publicly disclosed her stiff-person syndrome diagnosis in December 2022 after health problems disrupted her touring plans. She later performed Édith Piaf’s “Hymne à l’amour” from the Eiffel Tower at the Paris Olympics opening ceremony on July 26, 2024.

The current autumn engagement comprises 16 performances. Her official concert schedule lists five remaining dates: Oct. 9, 10, 14, 16 and 17.

She is scheduled to return to the same arena for 10 more concerts in May 2027, beginning May 8 and ending May 29.
