Connor Storrie brought his mom to his first Emmys and gave his new buzzcut its biggest red-carpet appearance yet.
The 26-year-old Heated Rivalry star attended the second night of the Creative Arts Emmy Awards on September 6 with his mother, Linda Storrie. He wore a charcoal gray Saint Laurent suit with a silky blue shirt, while Linda joined him in a sparkling gold gown.
Storrie was also there as a nominee. His February 28 hosting appearance on Saturday Night Live earned him his first Emmy nomination for Outstanding Guest Actor in a Comedy Series.
His blond curls were already gone before the ceremony. Storrie was photographed with the buzzcut in Toronto in August and later appeared with it on the Heated Rivalry season two set in Hamilton, Ontario.
Storrie Brought Mom Linda to His First Emmys
Storrie and Linda posed together at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles before he joined the other nominees inside. Vogue identified his suit as a Saint Laurent Spring 2027 look with embellished buttons and an unbuttoned blue silk shirt. Storrie is an ambassador for the fashion house.
Linda has already come up in interviews about her son’s rapid rise. In January, Storrie told Extra that he warned his mother about the explicit material in Heated Rivalry before she watched it.
He recalled Linda asking whether he was sure he wanted to do the series before deciding she would “just have to fast-forward a little bit.” Storrie said his parents have always been supportive of his acting career.
‘Saturday Night Live’ Earned Him His First Emmy Nomination
Storrie hosted Saturday Night Live on February 28 with Mumford & Sons as musical guest. Hudson Williams made a surprise appearance during the episode, and members of the U.S. men’s and women’s hockey teams joined Storrie during his opening monologue.
The Television Academy nominated Storrie for Outstanding Guest Actor in a Comedy Series for the hosting performance. It remains his only Emmy nomination to date.
He competed against Michael J. Fox and Brett Goldstein for Shrinking, Hamish Linklater for Widow’s Bay, Christopher McDonald for Hacks and Rob Reiner for The Bear. Reiner won the award posthumously for playing Albert Schnurr in the Bear episode “Tonnato.”
Storrie previously called hosting SNL a “pinch me” moment and said the show had been a formative part of his childhood. He said being recognized by the Television Academy for hosting felt “incredibly surreal.”
The Buzzcut First Appeared While Season Two Was Filming
Storrie’s shorter hair first surfaced publicly on August 23 when he was photographed having lunch in Toronto with Heated Rivalry costar Christina Chang. The following day, photographers caught him on the season two set in Hamilton.
Storrie had talked about cutting his curls months earlier. During a Teen Vogue video with Williams, he said he was ready to shave his head and wanted someone to hire him for a role requiring a dramatic haircut. He repeated the idea while getting ready for a Saint Laurent show with Vogue in January.
No one involved with Heated Rivalry has said the haircut was required for Ilya Rozanov. Storrie has already been photographed filming the new season with the shorter style, but the production has not explained how Ilya’s appearance will be handled on screen.
Bell Media has confirmed Storrie and Williams will return as Ilya and Shane Hollander when Heated Rivalry season two premieres in spring 2027.
