Tyla and Future have released “Game Time,” a new FIFA World Cup 2026 song arriving less than two weeks before the tournament opens in Mexico City.

The track dropped May 29 and marks the first collaboration between the South African pop star and the Atlanta rapper, according to Billboard Philippines. It is part of FIFA’s official music rollout for the 2026 tournament, which will be held across the United States, Mexico, and Canada.

News24 reported that “Game Time” is the seventh single tied to the upcoming tournament.

“Game Time” was produced by Cirkut and pairs Tyla’s pop and R&B style with Future’s trap delivery. Billboard Philippines described the release as part of the official FIFA World Cup 2026 album rollout.

News24 reported that earlier World Cup-related releases include “Dai Dai” by Shakira and Burna Boy, “Goals” by LISA, Anitta, and Rema, and “Illuminate” by Jessie Reyez and Elyanna.

The rollout points to a tournament soundtrack built around several markets and fan bases instead of one single theme song carrying the entire event.

Tyla Is Also Set for the Opening Ceremonies

Tyla’s World Cup role does not stop with the single. FIFA confirmed that she is among the performers scheduled for the Mexico City opening ceremony on June 11, alongside Alejandro Fernández, Belinda, Danny Ocean, J Balvin, Lila Downs, Los Ángeles Azules, and Maná.

The Mexico City ceremony will take place 90 minutes before the opening match between Mexico and South Africa, according to FIFA.

Reuters reported that Tyla will also be part of the Los Angeles opening ceremony on June 12. That U.S. lineup includes Katy Perry, Future, Anitta, LISA, Rema, and Tyla before the U.S. team’s match against Paraguay.

Future Gives the Track a U.S. Rap Anchor

Future’s appearance gives “Game Time” a major U.S. rap presence as the tournament prepares for its North American launch. His role also connects the single directly to the Los Angeles opening event, where Reuters reported he is scheduled to perform.

The pairing gives FIFA a cross-market collaboration: Tyla brings one of the most visible African pop breakthroughs of the past few years, while Future brings a long-running American hip-hop audience into the soundtrack rollout.

That combination fits the scale of the 2026 World Cup, which will be staged across 16 host cities in three countries.

The 2026 World Cup Starts June 11

The FIFA World Cup 2026 begins June 11 in Mexico City and runs through July 19, with the final scheduled for New York New Jersey Stadium. FIFA said the tournament will feature 104 matches across 16 host cities.

Reuters reported that FIFA will stage separate opening ceremonies in Mexico, Canada, and the United States before the first match in each host country.

For Tyla, “Game Time” adds another global platform after “Water” helped make her one of South Africa’s most visible pop exports. For FIFA, the single keeps the tournament’s music campaign moving before the first whistle.
