Harry Styles worried fans during his Wembley Stadium show after a water-spit stage move appeared to go wrong in the middle of London’s heatwave.

The 32-year-old singer was performing at Wembley on Friday, June 26, when fan-shot videos showed him coughing, falling backward and briefly lying on the stage. People reported that Styles appeared to recover after the moment and returned to the stage the following night.

The incident happened near the end of the concert during “As It Was.” Clips shared online showed Styles attempting his familiar “whale” move, where he spits water into the air, before choking and dropping to the floor.

Styles has not publicly issued a statement saying the heat caused the incident.

People reported that Styles appeared to choke on water after attempting the stage move. The outlet said he lay on the stage for several seconds while coughing before getting back up.

Just Jared reported that some fans described the moment as a collapse, while the videos showed the fall coming immediately after the water-spit move.

After the pause, Styles got up, waved to the crowd and left the stage.

Fans Were Already Watching the Heat Closely

The scare happened during extreme heat in London. People reported that the city had reached its third consecutive day of record-breaking heat, with temperatures climbing to 97 degrees.

Wembley Stadium had already introduced temporary hot-weather measures for Styles’ June 26 and June 27 shows. The venue said guests could bring 500ml metal or hard plastic water bottles, use free refill stations, buy bottled water at a 50 percent discount and collect free sun cream at information points.

The venue also told guests to stay hydrated, use sunscreen and report to the nearest member of staff if they felt unwell.

Styles Returned for the Next Wembley Show

Styles returned to Wembley on Saturday, June 27, one day after the water incident.

People reported that fans had questioned online why no one from Styles’ team appeared to reach him immediately after he fell. Other fans said the moment was being exaggerated because he recovered and continued with the scheduled run.

No official statement from Styles or his team has described the incident as a medical emergency.

The Wembley Run Is Part of His Together, Together Tour

Styles is in the middle of his Together, Together run at Wembley Stadium. Wembley Park lists 12 London dates between June 12 and July 4, with Shania Twain as the special guest for every show.

NME described the residency as a record-breaking 12-night stint at Wembley Stadium.
