Jax Taylor wants Brittany Cartwright to pay him $17,401 every month in spousal support. The former Vanderpump Rules star is also seeking money for his legal team and a forensic accountant, according to court documents described in TMZ’s November 6 report.

Taylor, 47, listed his occupation as an actor, reality television personality and podcast creator. But in the paperwork reviewed by Us Weekly, he offered a much shorter description of his current prospects: “no one will hire me.”

His attorney, Mark Vincent Kaplan, told Page Six that Taylor initially intended to complete the divorce without asking for spousal or child support. Kaplan now argues that the former couple’s financial circumstances justify the request, which he said “is not an act of retaliation.”

Cartwright filed for divorce in August 2024 after the couple announced their separation earlier that year. They married in 2019 and share a five-year-old son, Cruz. Their latest dispute follows an earlier parenting agreement and separate requests for protection from one another.

Taylor Lists Savings and Expenses as His Bravo Payments End

Beyond the monthly spousal payment, Taylor is requesting $250,000 toward attorney fees and $10,000 for a forensic accountant. His application also seeks child support, although the reports do not identify a separate monthly amount for that request.

His financial disclosure lists average monthly earnings of $30,334 over the preceding year and estimated monthly expenses of $28,944. He also reported $464,671 across bank accounts and $193,471 in other property.

The filing described by The U.S. Sun says a holding fee from Bravo ended with a final payment the previous month. Taylor maintains that he now has no reliable income and must draw on his savings, instead of continue receiving the amounts reflected in his annual average.

He estimates that Cartwright’s company generated $632,775 in gross income from January 1 through May 31, 2026. During The Valley’s reunion, Cartwright said she paid household expenses and a home-equity loan Taylor used for taxes, according to Bravo.

He Claims a $175,000 Special Forces Role Fell Through

Taylor blames Cartwright for interfering with prospective work. In a September filing reviewed by Us Weekly, he alleged that she contacted Fox and caused the cancellation of a role on Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test that would have paid him $175,000. His latest account also names Carpe Deodorant, which he says declined to extend its partnership with him.

Cartwright’s representative rejected the suggestion that her decision to seek legal protection amounted to career sabotage. In a September statement to PEOPLE, the representative said, “A victim cannot fairly be attacked both for remaining silent and for eventually speaking out and seeking protection.”

Taylor’s departure from The Valley was announced in July 2025. At the time, he said he needed to focus on sobriety, mental health and parenting. In his new financial account, he also pointed to giving up his involvement in Jax’s Studio City and no longer making the When Reality Hits podcast with Cartwright.

Both Sought Restraining Orders Earlier This Year

Cartwright obtained a temporary protective order on August 27 after alleging a pattern of domestic violence, including emotional, financial and physical abuse. Court documents reviewed by Us Weekly showed that Taylor was ordered to remain at least 100 yards away from her.

In a public response, Taylor acknowledged past behavior he regretted while disputing her allegations. He subsequently applied for his own restraining order, and PEOPLE reported on September 1 that he had been granted temporary protection.

Their Earlier Agreement Required Neither Parent to Pay Child Support

Under the custody agreement reported in March, each parent was responsible for Cruz’s expenses while he was in their care, with neither paying child support to the other. They shared legal custody, and Cartwright had the final say on medical decisions when they could not agree. Taylor’s latest paperwork says he intends to challenge that tie-breaking authority.

In October, Taylor separately asked to be declared legally single, as Wealth of Geeks previously reported. His application sought to end their marital status while leaving financial, property and support questions to be resolved through the remaining proceedings.

Kaplan has also accused Cartwright of delaying negotiations by failing to provide updated financial information. A source close to Cartwright disputed similar accusations in July, telling Us Weekly that she had participated in good faith and attributing earlier delays to unresolved finances and Taylor’s treatment stays. A hearing is scheduled for December 30, according to TMZ.
