Johnny Depp found an unusual way to interact with the backdrop at a Las Vegas event. Instead of simply posing in front of it, the actor leaned into the greenery and came away with part of it in his mouth.
Video from Drink Las Vegas shows Depp standing in front of a plant-covered photo wall at Park MGM with a drink in one hand. He moves toward the display, bites off a piece of the decorative greenery and appears to chew it while photographers continue shooting.
After spitting out the first piece, Depp goes back for more. The second bite is considerably larger, leaving several leaves hanging from his mouth as he resumes posing and raises his drink toward the cameras.
The clip was obtained by TMZ, which credited the footage to Instagram user @jpasc24. Depp was in Las Vegas during the inaugural Drink Las Vegas festival, where his Three Hearts rum brand was participating in the weekend’s programming.

The second bite produced the video’s most unusual image. With a sizable piece of greenery hanging from his mouth, Depp remained in front of the photographers rather than immediately stepping away from the backdrop.
He continued holding his drink and posing while the leaves remained between his teeth. Nothing in the footage establishes what material was used for the display or whether Depp actually swallowed any of it.
The people surrounding the photo area do not appear visibly alarmed in the clip. Depp stays at the backdrop after both bites and continues the photo opportunity.
His Rum Brand Had Its Own Drink Las Vegas Event
Drink Las Vegas ran from September 24 through September 27 across Bellagio, ARIA, The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas and Park MGM. The festival’s official site describes the four-day event as bringing together chefs, mixologists and beverage brands for dinners, tastings, demonstrations and other programming.
Three Hearts, the rum company co-founded by Depp, Bobby DeLeon and BĂ©atrice Cointreau, was among the participating brands. The company held an invite-only âReimagine Rumâ event at Park MGM during the festival.
According to the official event listing, DeLeon and Cointreau were scheduled to discuss the development of Three Hearts and the ideas behind the brand, followed by a guided tasting and cocktail experience.
Depp launched Three Hearts with DeLeon and Cointreau in 2025. The brand produces two expressions, Three Hearts Rum and Three Hearts Rum XO, both made from blends of Caribbean and Latin American rums.
Depp Has Been Building Three Hearts Alongside His Film Comeback
The Las Vegas appearance comes as Depp continues expanding the rum venture while returning to major Hollywood projects. His recent work includes Day Drinker, which reunited him with Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides co-star Penélope Cruz.
Depp is also returning to directing with Modigliani: Three Days on the Wing of Madness, his first feature directing credit since The Brave in 1997. The film stars Riccardo Scamarcio as Italian artist Amedeo Modigliani alongside Stephen Graham and Al Pacino.
His weekend at Park MGM, however, produced a considerably shorter piece of footage to circulate online. A standard photo call ended with Depp taking two bites from the decorative wall while the cameras kept shooting.
