Jordyn Woods has an answer for people wondering why Jaden Smith appeared beside her bridesmaids, attended her bridal shower and helped Karl-Anthony Towns get ready on their wedding day. He has been there for virtually every other important moment in her life too.

Woods, 28, responded to the questions in an Aug. 29 TikTok built from photographs of their friendship stretching from childhood to her August wedding. “Because he’s never missed an important moment in my life,” she wrote over one of the throwback images, according to Just Jared.

Smith, also 28, was not formally one of Woods’ bridesmaids, but he was woven throughout the celebration. He attended the bridal shower, posed with Woods and members of her wedding party and helped Towns get ready before the ceremony.

His most tangible contribution was something only a close friend with a luxury-fashion job was likely to provide. Smith, Christian Louboutin’s first Men’s Creative Director, created custom size-20 shoes for the 7-foot Knicks center and personally helped Towns into them before he walked down the aisle.

‘Because He’s Never Missed an Important Moment in My Life’

Woods answered the questions about Smith by going backward through their history together. Her TikTok included photographs of them as young children and babies before reaching images from the recent wedding. “So grateful to have the epitome of a day ONE. From diapers to marriage,” Woods wrote. “I can’t wait for his wedding one day but until then.”

She then pointed to moments that had nothing to do with celebrity events. Woods said Smith had never missed a birthday and remembered him showing up when her father died. “He’s never missed a birthday, showing up at my dads funeral and making us all laugh, to now getting married,” she wrote. “I’m so lucky I’ve never had to know a life without our friendship.”

Page Six reported that the TikTok followed online questions about why Smith was “with all of the girls” during the wedding festivities. His presence beside the bridesmaids reflected a friendship that Woods says has lasted essentially her entire life.

Smith’s most visible wedding-day contribution involved the groom. He created a custom pair of Christian Louboutin shoes for Towns and shared photographs showing himself helping the NBA star get ready before the ceremony.

“My Best Friend Got Married And I Made Karl Size 20 Red Bottoms,” Smith wrote in his Aug. 19 post. He congratulated Woods and Towns separately before telling the groom to “Keep The Swag On High.”

Vogue’s wedding photographs show Smith helping Towns into the custom ceremony shoes and identify Smith as their creator. The red soles were personalized with Towns’ initials, adding another bespoke detail to the groom’s made-to-measure Ralph Lauren Purple Label tuxedo.

The project was directly connected to Smith’s professional role. Christian Louboutin appointed him the house’s first Men’s Creative Director in 2025, putting him in charge of four men’s collections each year spanning shoes, leather goods and accessories as well as the broader visual direction around them.

Jordyn and Jaden Have Known Each Other Since Childhood

Their friendship began through their families long before either was navigating celebrity weddings or fashion houses. Woods’ late father, John Woods, worked as a sound engineer on The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air and became close with Will Smith, bringing Jordyn into the Smith family’s orbit while she and Jaden were still children.

Woods had publicly described Smith as a best friend years before the wedding. For his 21st birthday in 2019, she wrote that they had been together “from 0 to 21 years old” and called him one of the most loving and caring people she knew.

Woods and Towns Married After Six Years Together

Woods and Towns married Aug. 15 at a private residence overlooking the Pacific Ocean in Malibu, four days after quietly making their marriage official at a civil ceremony at the Santa Barbara courthouse. According to Vogue, Woods wore a custom Danielle Frankel gown for the main ceremony, while Towns paired his custom Louboutin shoes with a made-to-measure Ralph Lauren Purple Label tuxedo.

The reception included four cakes by Cory Pohlman Cakes and a 15-piece band before a DJ took over. After dancing into the early morning, the newlyweds and their friends ended the night outside with In-N-Out burgers.

The couple first met in Los Angeles in 2017 and became close friends before beginning a romantic relationship in 2020. Towns proposed on Christmas Eve 2025, and they married less than eight months later after six years together.
