Justin Bieber has a new award to thank Anthony Edwards for, White Boy of the Year. The singer received the honor during the second annual Believe That Awards, which premiered Oct. 14.
The Minnesota Timberwolves star and his longtime friend Nick Maddox hosted the prerecorded YouTube special, a satirical ceremony that hands out unconventional titles to athletes, actors, musicians and internet personalities.
Actors Tom Holland and Robert Pattinson were also nominated for the title, alongside football star Travis Kelce and soccer player Erling Haaland.
The first edition generated 150 million views across platforms, according to Variety. The show is produced by Edwards’ Three Fifths Media alongside Wheelhouse and Portal A, with PrizePicks as presenting sponsor.
Bieber Credits Black Culture in His Acceptance Speech
“Man, thank you, bro. This is special,” Bieber said in a recorded message to Edwards, according to REVOLT. “Everyone knows how influenced I am by Black culture, and this one’s sweet,” he continued. He finished by saying he would connect with the hosts soon.
Bieber released SWAG and SWAG II in 2025, then performed at Coachella in April. SZA, Big Sean and Tems were among the guests he brought onstage during his festival appearance.
“Bieber deserve it this year, for real,” Druski told Edwards during his own appearance, according to EssentiallySports. The host responded, “Love that.” Druski also said he approved of the previous year’s choice. The comedian had received Main Character of the Year, beating Zendaya, Cardi B, Keke Palmer and MrBeast.
Chalamet Thanked Bieber When He Won the Inaugural Award
Timothée Chalamet included Bieber in his list of people to thank when he won the category in October 2025, as NME reported. Justin Timberlake, former NBA player Jason Williams and Ed Sheeran were the other names he credited with laying the path before him.
He joined the program on a video call from Budapest, where he was filming Dune: Part Three. Sports Illustrated reported that he had beaten Adam Sandler, Tom Cruise, MrBeast and Pat McAfee.
Chalamet joked about needing to improve his street credibility, and the conversation led to an imagined Training Day remake. He suggested that Edwards take the role played by Denzel Washington, with Chalamet acting opposite him. “I can’t die in the movie. That’s the only thing,” Edwards said, according to Hypebeast.
Chalamet continued the joke on Instagram Stories afterward, promising to cherish the award and inspire future generations of white boys to be delusional about their identities and place in the world.
Michael B. Jordan, Coco Gauff and 50 Cent Also Won
Michael B. Jordan received Iconic Performance of the Year for playing twins Smoke and Stack in Sinners. His fellow nominees were Chalamet, Inde Navarrette, Jaafar Jackson and Anne Hathaway.
IShowSpeed won Creator of the Year, and Edwards challenged him to a footrace during their video chat, Canis Hoopus reported. The streamer also promised to attend Timberwolves games.
Coco Gauff received the Beauty and the Beast award for achievements on and off the tennis court. During her appearance, she offered Edwards a pair of her signature New Balance tennis shoes.
Jaden McDaniels took home Stood on Bidness, while LaMelo Ball received Bring Ya A**. Both joined Edwards in the room, with Ball discussing what he would bring to the Timberwolves. The Lifetime Achievement Award went to rapper 50 Cent, who also appeared during the special.
The inaugural Believe That Awards earned a 2026 Shorty Award for humor, according to Portal A. It also received a Webby nomination in Events & Live and a Silver Telly for comedy in social video.
