Kehlani has been forced off the stage for two dates on their world tour after a sudden health problem sent the singer to the hospital and left them unable to swallow.
The 31-year-old shared the update on Aug. 26 after what they described as two normal days off. By that night, Kehlani said the pain had become severe enough for a hospital visit, and they had not been cleared to sing at the next two concerts.
The disruption affected an Aug. 26 show at Freedom Mortgage Pavilion in Camden, New Jersey, and an Aug. 27 date at Merriweather Post Pavilion in Columbia, Maryland, which Kehlani referred to as the D.C. stop.
Kehlani has not disclosed a diagnosis or said what caused the symptoms. “We will pick back up in Virginia,” they told fans, and the current tour schedule still lists Richmond as the next stop on Aug. 29.
Kehlani Was ‘Unable to Swallow & in So Much Pain’

Kehlani described how quickly the problem developed in an Instagram update posted from the hospital. “After two off days feeling completely normal, I’ve been up all night unable to swallow & in so much pain,” they wrote. Just Jared reported that the post also included two photographs taken inside the hospital.
“I just left the hospital & am not cleared to sing for the next two shows,” Kehlani continued. They apologized to fans in Camden and the D.C. area and said their team was working on a solution for both performances.
The singer also addressed the frustration of becoming ill despite taking precautions on the road. “I do everything I’m supposed to do to ensure my health stays up to par & it still isn’t guaranteed,” they wrote.
Both Camden and the D.C.-Area Show Are Now Postponed
The first affected concert was scheduled for Aug. 26 at Freedom Mortgage Pavilion in Camden. Ticketmaster now lists the event as postponed with a new date still to be announced and instructs ticket holders to keep their original tickets.
Kehlani had been scheduled to perform the following evening at Merriweather Post Pavilion in Columbia, Maryland, about 30 miles from Washington, D.C. The venue also lists that performance as postponed rather than canceled.
Merriweather says a replacement date is being worked out and that all existing tickets will be honored when it is announced. That distinction updates some of the earliest reports, including Billboard and Just Jared, which described the performances as cancellations immediately after Kehlani’s announcement.
The Health Scare Hit During the North American Leg
The North American leg of The Kehlani World Tour began Aug. 6 at The Armory in Minneapolis. Before the two postponed dates, Kehlani had already moved through cities including Detroit, Toronto, Boston, New York and Uncasville, Connecticut.
Live Nation announced the 33-date North American run in May in support of Kehlani’s self-titled album. TheARTI$t, WASEEL and Durand Bernarr are among the supporting artists appearing on selected dates, with support varying across the itinerary.
The album arrived earlier this year and debuted at No. 4 on the Billboard 200. Live Nation also noted that “Folded” earned Kehlani two Grammy Awards in 2026, for Best R&B Performance and Best R&B Song.
Richmond Remains the Next Scheduled Tour Stop
Kehlani told fans that they expected the tour to resume in Virginia. The official tour schedule still lists an Aug. 29 performance at Allianz Amphitheater at Riverfront in Richmond, followed by Raleigh on Aug. 31 and Charlotte on Sept. 1.
The North American itinerary is scheduled to continue through Atlanta, Birmingham, Nashville, Florida, Texas and several West Coast cities before concluding Oct. 3 at Shoreline Amphitheatre in the San Francisco Bay Area.
