Keith Richards has reached a new family milestone far away from the Rolling Stones stage.
The 82-year-old guitarist has become a great-grandfather for the first time after his granddaughter Ella Richards welcomed her first child, a baby girl named Luna. People reported that Ella announced the birth on Instagram while celebrating her 30th birthday.
Ella shared a photo of herself lying in the grass with her newborn, whose face was turned away from the camera. In the caption, she called it her “best birthday yet” with baby Luna.

Ella Richards Announced the News on Her Birthday
The baby news arrived only a few months after Ella revealed her pregnancy.
People reported that she announced in March that she was expecting her first child, sharing a black-and-white portrait and tagging her photographer boyfriend, Sascha von Bismarck. Friends and family celebrated the announcement at the time, including Keith’s youngest daughter, Alexandra Richards.
Luna is Ella’s first child and Keith’s first great-grandchild, giving one of rock’s most recognizable families another generation.
Luna Joins the Larger Richards Family Tree
Ella is the daughter of Marlon Richards and model Lucie de la Falaise, who married in 1994. Marlon is Keith’s eldest son from his relationship with the late Anita Pallenberg.
Marlon and Lucie also share son Orson and daughter Ida Violet. Ella has built her own career in fashion and modeling while remaining part of a family tree tied closely to rock history, British style, and the fashion world.
Keith has five children. He welcomed Marlon, Tara, and Angela with Pallenberg, and Theodora and Alexandra with wife Patti Hansen. Tara died as an infant.
The family has continued growing in recent years. People reported that Alexandra welcomed her second child, Elvis Nova Naudé, with husband Jacques Naudé in February 2025.
Keith has spoken rarely but warmly about his family life. In a 2023 interview quoted by People, he said, “I love my family,” while describing his extended family as close-knit.
