Kim Kardashian has added a restored 1973 Ford Bronco to her car collection, reportedly paying $285,000 for the dark green truck.

The Skims founder introduced the vehicle in a July 14 Instagram carousel photographed outside her mountain home in Idaho. She posed behind the wheel, applied lip gloss in the open cabin and captioned the pictures, “Taking the long way home.”

TMZ reported that Kardashian bought the Bronco from Velocity Restorations, a Florida-based company that rebuilds and updates vintage Broncos.

The vehicle combines first-generation bodywork with a modern V8 engine, automatic transmission and upgraded interior.

Kardashian’s carousel showed the Bronco parked outside her lake-area property and being driven through the surrounding mountain setting. Its dark green paint, white wheels, cream-colored exterior accents and tan fabric roof differ sharply from the muted gray finishes she has chosen for several of her Los Angeles vehicles.

Kardashian tagged Velocity Restorations directly in the post. TMZ reported that she had owned the vehicle for several weeks before it was transported from Los Angeles to the Idaho property.

The 1973 Body Hides a Modern V8

Velocity identifies the vehicle as a 1973 Bronco Ranger Package finished in Oak Green Metallic with Wimbledon White accents. Under the hood is a Gen 4X 5.0-liter Ford Coyote V8 paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission and a MagnaFlow exhaust system.

The Bronco also has a Velocity frame, lifted suspension, Bilstein shocks, four-wheel disc brakes and 33-inch Cooper tires mounted on 17-inch steel wheels. LED headlights, power-operated side steps and a roll cage update the truck without removing its recognizable early-Bronco shape.

Inside, Velocity lists Ranger-style brown upholstery, high-back front seats, digital gauges, a classic wood steering wheel, power windows, Focal audio, a subwoofer, a center console and Vintage Air climate control.

A tan bikini top covers the driver and front passenger while leaving the rear seating area open. TMZ also noted the Bronco has a carpet-free floor, making it better suited to summer use around water, sand and mountain roads.

Travis Barker Connected Kim With the Builder

TMZ reported that Kardashian learned about Velocity Restorations through her brother-in-law Travis Barker, who is also one of the company’s customers. Kardashian then chose the Bronco for use at her mountain property.

Velocity normally quotes a 14- to 16-week process for made-to-order vehicles, according to TMZ. Kardashian’s Bronco was one of the completed builds the company keeps available, allowing it to be purchased and delivered without waiting for a new restoration.

The company specializes in re-engineered classics that preserve vintage body designs while replacing or upgrading their engines, transmissions, suspension, brakes, wiring and interior equipment.

Kim Kardashian Has Long Called Herself a ‘Car Girl’

The Bronco joins a collection that has included Mercedes-Maybach sedans, Rolls-Royce models, Range Rovers and a Lamborghini Urus. InStyle cited a 2022 estimate that placed the collection’s value at approximately $3.8 million before the newest purchase.

Kardashian discussed three of her favorite vehicles during a 2022 video tour with Vogue. She said she had always been a “car girl” and had several vehicles repainted in matching gray finishes because she wanted them to complement the color of her home.
