Kylie Kelce had one request for relatives after welcoming her first daughter: no kissing the baby’s face, head or hands. That included the grandparents, and she says everyone respected it.
The 34-year-old podcast host discussed the boundary during an October 26th bonus segment of Not Gonna Lie, answering a viewer who asked whether she and husband Jason Kelce had needed to establish rules with either set of parents.
Jason’s mother and father, Donna and Ed Kelce, were among the relatives expected to follow the couple’s wishes. Kylie praised both families for embracing their roles as supportive grandparents.
Kylie and Jason now have four daughters: Wyatt, 7, Elliotte, 5, Bennett, 3, and Finnley, 18 months. As the girls have grown, Kylie has also set limits on how much of their lives she shares publicly.
Kylie Kelce Asked Family Members Not to Kiss Her Baby
During the Q&A, Kylie paused to consider whether setting boundaries with the grandparents had ever been necessary. She then recalled her request about kissing the baby after Wyatt’s arrival in 2019.
As PEOPLE reported on October 26th, Kylie said everyone listened.
“We have a good little squad. Squad understands the assignment,” she said.
She explained that both sets of grandparents recognized they had already raised their own children. Their role now was to be loving and supportive, an arrangement Kylie said she and Jason felt fortunate to have.
The COVID-19 Pandemic Brought Additional Precautions
Kylie also recalled becoming more cautious when the COVID-19 pandemic began in 2020. She described Wyatt as being about six months old at the time.
Calling herself a germaphobe, Kylie said the uncertainty surrounding the pandemic prompted the family to restrict activities quickly.
Travel was one area where she and Jason established additional boundaries. Outside those precautions, however, she said they had not needed to set many rules with their parents.
Just Jared’s October 27th coverage also highlighted Kylie’s appreciation for both families’ cooperation.
Kylie Has Also Stopped Posting Her Daughters’ Faces Online
Kylie has taken a more cautious approach to sharing her children on social media as the family’s public profile has grown.
During an appearance on The Squeeze with Tay Lautner, she described the release of Jason’s 2023 documentary, Kelce, as a turning point. She felt she needed to establish clearer limits for people following the family.
Kylie said she had made a point of no longer showing her daughters’ faces on her social media accounts. Although she still discusses motherhood, she emphasized that the girls’ safety guides her decisions about what to share.
As InStyle reported on October 27th, Kylie also reflected on how long online content can remain accessible.
She explained that her daughters will eventually be able to search for photographs, stories and discussions involving them. Knowing they could encounter that material later has made her more deliberate about what she posts.
The Kelces Still Rely on Family for Childcare
The grandparents remain an important part of the family’s everyday life.
During an October 14th appearance on IMO with Michelle Obama and Craig Robinson, Kylie explained that her parents live 15 minutes away and regularly help with the girls, according to PEOPLE.
She also said the couple employ a nanny during regular work hours and spend time with both sides of the family.
For Kylie, that involvement reflects the family values she and Jason grew up with and want their daughters to experience themselves.
