The teacher who went viral after an Instagram exchange with Khloé Kardashian is apologizing for making her uncomfortable while challenging parts of her account of what happened afterward.
Jacob Myers-Norys addressed the situation in a lengthy TikTok response on October 28. The high school science teacher discussed his messages, a classroom photograph and other posts Kardashian had cited when explaining her discomfort.
The attention began in December 2025, when Myers-Norys posted about hoping to find a woman who would ask about his school day. Kardashian replied, “How was your day??” Her comment quickly drew attention from followers hoping the exchange might lead to a romance.
Kardashian, 42, has described her response as innocent. She later discussed the attention on Hulu’s The Kardashians and her podcast, Khloé in Wonder Land, saying his continued references to her had become unsettling.
He Disputes the Message Count but Apologizes for Her Discomfort
Kardashian said she had received approximately 15 unanswered direct messages from Myers-Norys. In his response, he acknowledged contacting her but said he believed the number was closer to seven. He also admitted he had not counted them.
According to the transcript published by Just Jared, his messages included a thank-you and a birthday greeting. He also tagged Kardashian in posts and stories.
Myers-Norys conceded that the attention might have been excessive. He said encouragement from other social media users had influenced his decision to reach out, and he had not believed Kardashian was seeing everything he sent.
After listening to her podcast, however, he recognized that his intentions did not determine her reaction.
“I genuinely want to apologize for making her uncomfortable,” he said. He added that he respects her boundaries and understands that his messages and jokes could have come across differently than he intended.
He Says Students Gave Him the Framed Kardashian Photo
One of Kardashian’s concerns involved a framed picture of the two of them displayed in his classroom. Myers-Norys said his students had given it to him as a Christmas prank.
He denied buying or making the picture and said he had not known what the students were planning. In his account, it was another example of teenagers teasing their teacher about the celebrity connection.
He offered a similar explanation for screenshots of his family discussing an air mattress for Kardashian. Myers-Norys said the messages were part of a TikTok trend about ridiculous family group chats.
His relatives were joking, he said, and nobody was preparing a bed or planning a sleepover. Kardashian had interpreted the references differently when describing why the attention had started to bother her.
He Says His Los Angeles Trip Was About Visiting His Mother
Myers-Norys also addressed a post teasing a trip to Los Angeles to see a special girl. He said the reveal was that he meant his mother, although some followers had assumed he was referring to Kardashian.
The trip also involved his first Buffalo Wild Wings partnership. He said that opportunity allowed him to give every student and staff member at his school a $25 gift card from the restaurant chain.
Kardashian Says the Repeated Attention Crossed Her Comfort Level
Kardashian first discussed the unanswered messages on the October 8 season premiere of The Kardashians. She read several aloud and joked about Myers-Norys using “Yacob” in his social media identity.
She returned to the subject during the October 22 episode of Khloé in Wonder Land. Kardashian explained that the spelling joke was intended as humor, pointing out that her own name also uses an unconventional first letter.
But her objection extended beyond the messages or his name. As Tyla reported, she said the repeated posts and references had left her uncomfortable.
Kardashian acknowledged that bringing him up publicly again might not have been necessary. She nevertheless maintained that she was entitled to set a boundary when she did not welcome the attention.
Myers-Norys Says the Celebrity Connection Became Difficult to Escape
The teacher said that, after several months, conversations with new acquaintances kept returning to Kardashian. He appreciated the opportunities that followed her comment but felt people were interested in the story rather than in him.
That was partly why he had hoped they might make a humorous video together. He said he thought it could give the situation an ending, while now recognizing that further messages could have had the opposite effect.
He also addressed his earlier sarcastic response to the television segment, which compared Kardashian’s remarks with being roasted by his students. Myers-Norys said he had been making fun of himself and had not intended to start a feud.
In the caption accompanying his latest video, he described the online hate and cyberbullying as overwhelming.
“I’m not sharing this to create more drama or ask anyone to take sides,” he wrote.
