Lucki was left bleeding after violence erupted outside ComplexCon in downtown Los Angeles on Saturday, while police say four people were injured during an apparent knife attack near the event.
Los Angeles police responded around 4:45 p.m. on October 3 to reports of a fight near Chick Hearn Court and Georgia Street, according to the Los Angeles Times. Officers arrived while people were still fighting and later confirmed injuries involving stab wounds or lacerations.
TMZ, citing law-enforcement sources, reported that an unidentified person struck the Chicago rapper on the side of the face while he was surrounded by fans taking photographs, causing a laceration. Video later showed Lucki with blood around his face and neck as people helped him into a vehicle.
Playboi Carti also appears in footage from the area, looking toward the disturbance from near his vehicle. His presence quickly fueled speculation about the rappers’ past disagreement, but the available police reporting do not establish that Carti attacked Lucki, ordered an attack or caused the confrontation.
Police Confirmed Four People Were Hurt in an Apparent Knife Attack
PEOPLE reported that LAPD responded to the fight and found four people with injuries consistent with stab wounds or lacerations. Two victims suffered injuries that appeared to result from a knife attack and were taken to a hospital.
A third person independently sought hospital treatment for a severe laceration, while a fourth showed an officer a laceration to his elbow and declined medical treatment at the scene.
Police did not identify any of those victims by name in the information provided to the Times. TMZ also reported that LAPD was treating the incident as an attempted-murder investigation.
Video circulated after the confrontation showing Lucki visibly bloodied as he approached a black vehicle. He initially moved toward the front seat before people around him directed him toward the rear.

Carti can be seen near the disturbance in footage that circulated after the incident. TMZ described him as positioned away from the physical fight and looking toward the scene from around his vehicle.
Several social-media posts have characterized the incident as a confrontation between the rappers’ entourages. HotNewHipHop noted after ComplexCon issued a statement that neither the organizers nor law enforcement had tied Carti or his Opium collective to responsibility for the violence.
ComplexCon likewise avoided identifying participants when it addressed the incident. The organization said its security personnel and LAPD responded immediately and emphasized that the altercation occurred outside the event.
Lucki and Carti Had a Brief Public Dispute in 2024
The speculation surrounding Carti has also revived an earlier disagreement between the rappers. Their public back-and-forth began in September 2024 after Carti apparently interpreted one of Lucki’s social-media posts as a reference to him.
Lucki had shared a photograph of a new chain and used the phrase “Crosses up,” which Carti connected to his own upside-down-cross imagery.
Lucki pushed back on that interpretation. In comments documented by Revolt, he told Carti, “I don’t dislike you,” and explained that the post referred to his own jewelry rather than a hidden insult.
The exchange cooled soon afterward. Later social-media activity was widely interpreted as evidence that the two had spoken by phone and resolved the misunderstanding.

A screenshot circulated several hours after the confrontation showing someone asking Lucki about his condition and receiving the brief response, “I’m good.” The Needle Drop reported that the exchange appeared online later Saturday.
Lucki also returned to Instagram Story early Sunday, according to TMZ. AllHipHop also cited sources close to the rapper who said he was recovering and doing well.
ComplexCon Continued Through Its 10th-Anniversary Weekend
The violence unfolded during the opening day of ComplexCon’s 10th-anniversary edition. The event’s official site identifies Playboi Carti and Japanese designer Hiroshi Fujiwara as artistic directors for the October 3-4 Los Angeles event.
The convention itself took place at the Los Angeles Convention Center, with its concert programming staged at nearby Crypto.com Arena. Carti’s Opium collective had a substantial presence throughout the weekend, including performances from Ken Carson, Destroy Lonely, Homixide Gang and other affiliated acts.
Complex reported that Carti joined Ken Carson during Saturday night’s performance after the earlier incident and remained scheduled to headline the event’s Sunday concert.
